Doc would have been wise to kept his mouth shut.  You can't criticize the Cav's for doing something that the Celtics did with Gary Payton a few years ago.

Doc comes off looking like a hypocrite, and it was foolish for him to even provide a comment on this.  Even Dr. Phil was wise enough to remain silent...

Did you even read what he said? He addressed the Gary Payton situation too. No hypocrisy there.

yes i did...and he said he liked it with regard to Payton's situation then, but said it stinks now.  if it was said in jest, that's one thing.  but if he complains about it he comes across looking like a whiner (which you would have to agree with) and the Boston Celtics are above this kind of attitude...

And I also noted that Phil Jackson was asked the same question to which he declined response...and, sad to say, Phil comes across looking a little more intelligent in this manner...

He was saying it in jest, but he does bring the issue forward. I don't think he has a problem with Cavs doing it per se, as he just has a problem with the situation overall. Of course, one doesn't complain when you're in the winning end, but it's one thing to complain about it and not even acknowledge that you've benefited from this in the past, and it's another to say... you know, I benefited from it in the past, loved it then, but I now realize that it's indeed a problem that needs to be addressed.

But whatever. And about Phil, yeah he declined to comment initially, but if you read further (I don't know if it's linked here) he does go on to criticize the move. So Phil didn't come across looking more intelligent either.

Anyways, I don't think Doc comes off as being a hypocrite in the situation. He didn't like the move, acknowledges that he's benefited from this in the past, and hopes things like this don't happen anymore even if he's the one that stands to benefit from it. I think it's more honest than anything else.

yeah, probably "whiner" was a better choice of wording rather than "hypocrite," as I found the ESPN article and the article even said "joking."  Also, I did see where Phil complained about it, but his comments probably had a little more meaning behind them than doc's (just because of the Payton thing)...

But then again, do either the Celtics or Lakers (of all teams) have a reason to complain?  :)

Am I the only one that doesn't care of Z joins the Cavs? With their current roster he won't be adding much of anything

Meh, I don't see why there's so much hype around Z. The guy is washed up.

The only thing I like about him is this:
