I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone that Big Z is seeking a buyout from Washington, and it is probably to return to Cleveland. He is supposedly considering signing with another team because he is garnering a lot of interest. How do you guys feel about trying to bring this guy here? I feel like he's probably going to return to Cleveland, that's where his heart is but it couldn't hurt to throw an offer out.

SG: Dwyane Wade / Gerald Henderson / Christian Eyenga
SF:  Grant Hill / Paul George / Earl Clark

I don't think he'd sign -- I think he's a lock to rejoin the Cavs

And I don't think he has much to offer -- Sheed + Perk have all the available minutes at center locked down.

He will not come here. If he gets bought out, 30 days later he will sign with the cavs.

I'm not sure about that, though i think they are the favorites.

But they were having trouble finding him minutes at times, due to the fact that him and shaq are a big liability in transition. Gotta think jamision would eat up some of the minutes he was getting.

I'm still with you that the most likely move by far is for him to go back to CLEV, but something to think about.

He's played and lived in Cleveland since leaving his home-country, Ferry is his best friend and just a few months ago he and his wife adopted two kids. He won't even leave his home in Ohio during this month.

From a basketball standpoint, signing with the Nuggets would be the best outcome for both parts.

If he was willing to come to Boston, I think DA would consider it.

IF it means less of Rasheed Wallace, than I am more for it.

No thanks...he's now the Big Zzzzzzzzzz...(as in his game will now put you to sleep).

If you're looking for a slow afoot center who is nothing more than 6 fouls and an occasional jumpshot, then have at it.  But I don't see any way he comes to Boston and gets meaningful minutes.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Everyone knows Big Z is going back to Cleveland, and Doc thinks there should be a rule change:

Quote
"I have a problem with that," Rivers said before Thursday's Lakers-Celtics game at Staples Center. "I loved it three years ago when we did it with Gary Payton if you remember, but now I think it sucks. I think it's a terrible deal."

Rivers and the Celtics traded Payton to Atlanta in March 2005 for Antoine Walker and Payton returned to Boston after being waived by the Hawks.

"I actually do have a problem with that though. We did it, and I'm joking, but I do think [it's a problem]. I don't know what you do [maybe] just not allow them to go back to the same team or whatever. ... I do think that will be changed eventually, but I do have a problem with it."

All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino

I have always thought this guy was a very limited player to be a starting center. That being said, being a role player off the bench suits him more. However he doesn't bring much to the table that Rasheed doesn't already unfortunately.

Am I the only one that doesn't care of Z joins the Cavs? With their current roster he won't be adding much of anything other than a safety net in the depth chart. Not worried at all, he can do as he pleases.

But yeah, a rule change is in order and I think the league is trying to address it.

Z is definitely very limited now.  He has a nice mid range jumper, can knock down a 3 anh shoot s a nice FT%.  He takes up space on defense and causes people to alter shots just due to his height.

All that being said, I will be crushed if he doesn't come back to Cleveland.  He has always been a Cav and I want him to retire as one

I remember the story about him adopting the boys, they were brothers right?  Good for him.  If he wants to come here I say bring him, I just don't see it happening.

Doc would have been wise to kept his mouth shut.  You can't criticize the Cav's for doing something that the Celtics did with Gary Payton a few years ago.

Doc comes off looking like a hypocrite, and it was foolish for him to even provide a comment on this.  Even Dr. Phil was wise enough to remain silent...

Did you even read what he said? He addressed the Gary Payton situation too. No hypocrisy there.
