Omg we need some young athletic mobile frontcourt players. Please please Danny find either some buyout players or just sign someone that can grab some rebounds.

A dream deferred.

Maybe it was for the best an all will work out.

No. 7th to 10th worst rebounding team in the league.

There's basically 0 chance that a player good enough to make the playoff rotation is bought out.

Doug Collins just said we were the 2nd worst. Is he wrong? I hope so.

ESPN has the Celtics 23rd in the league in rebounding differential.

Tied 21st in rebounding percentage.

Offensive rebounding - 27th best (3rd worst, close to being the 2nd worst - maybe Collins meant this and messed up)
Defensive rebounding - 14th best (16th worst)

Overall - 21th to 23th best team

Glen Davis leads this team in offensive rebounding (per game) in only 16.7 minutes a night.

Rondo averages as many offensive rebounds as Garnett (1.2 per game)

2007/2008    Celtics 3rd in rebound margin
2009/2010    Celtics 23rd in rebound margin.

No Powe + No Posey +Kg knee = no rebounds.

IIRC, in the last 40 years only 1 team won the championship without being in the top half in terms of rebounding rate (Houston '95) and only 2 won the championship while having a Team Reb % < 50% (Houston '94 and '95). The '94 Rockets were a very good defensive rebounding team though, much better than this Celtics.

We play at a slow pace, that makes us have the second lowest or lowest total rebounds.

We're certainly not a good rebounding team.

Our rebounding has come and gone with KG's health, though that might not be the only reason. Down in Nov, up in Dec, down in Jan/Feb. It should improve in the spring if we're healthy, but not greatly.

Tonight I saw flashes of old KG too.

Argh! Stupid injuries....

I watched some playoff footage from 2007-2008.  :'(

I love them both dearly, but Powe and Posey didn't get the volume of rebounds necessary for such an alarming drop in the stats above. You remember Powe and Posey for getting big rebounds late in the game or impressive hustle O-Rebs, but never volume.
