Hoping Raja Bell is available by buy out time.

Yep.

Of course, I don't see why GState would have turned down expiring contracts and cash for him. I hope Ainge made an offer.

I didn't think Bell was coming back this season... is he?

Exactly.
Isn;t he done for the rest of the season (the regular season anyway?)

He is expected to be back this season.

Any chance Mike Miller gets bought out by Washington? They've obviously blown it up and could save a few bucks by buying him out and letting him sign with a playoff team. He'd probably top my list for buyout guys if that happens. Miller could fill House's shooting void, he could handle the ball well for the 2nd unit (allowing Robinson to play off the ball sometimes) and he's a Rivers' favorite from his Orlando days. Plus he's a very efficient, smart player. This 10-man rotation would be pretty solid:

Rondo/Robinson
R.Allen/T.Allen
Pierce/Miller
Garnett/Wallace
Perkins/Davis

If we go based on need, it just about has to be a wing or PG doesnt it? We now have Ray, PP, Rondo, TA, Nate, Daniels and this new kid from Wisconsin. Assuming the kid never see's the floor, we could use a little more depth at guard.

My prefered in no particular order are:

Miller
Pargo
Hughes
Simmons
Bell

Most likely with 2 roster spots, Danny adds a big and a guard I guess.

A player has to be a free agent before March 1st in order to be signed by the Celtics and be eligible for playoff play.

Any player realeased after March 1st and signed by the C's w be able to play in the playoffs

So free agent buyout season usually lasts until March 1st to see who becomes available and the teams pounce though some players sign later

There are always some enticing options..... unless you get desperate and sign Mikki Moore.  :-X

Ricky "get buckets" Davis would give us athleticism at SG

Think of the quickness in the backcourt with Rondo, Nate, Tony Allen and Ricky Davis

Ricky has dropped off over the past few years. He could barely score during his past couple of years on the Clippers. And we know he can't defend. :-/

If the C's go athletic, gotta get younger legs.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

DA will probably look for depth at wing and sign one player, but PG and the big spots are pretty well set.

They'll leave a spot open to save money. :-[

Any chance we can coax Bowen out of retirement, a la P.J. Brown?  I don't love him as a rotation player, but if he was essentially the Giddens/Walker replacement and was really only called upon to play if TA or Quis went down, it'd work out pretty nicely.

Bowen was looking rather "thick" on NBATV last time I saw him.  I think he's done.

They'll look for a wing, but most likely won't sign one unless he could either 1) beat out TA straight up, or 2) is as good as TA but offers 3pt shooting (nobody behind Ray/PP shoots at the 2/3, unless you count Scal at the 3).

I think Wyc is closing the checkbook unless there's real value out there.
