We would have needed free cap space to make this work.

Teams over the cap need not apply for utah to pull this off. Also, memphis is terrible, which i assume played into Utah's eval of the pick's value.

Wow I would be miffed if I were a Utah fan. He's a major minute player for them. They are playing pretty well.

Also, Memphis is a 500 team. The pick wont be great.

Get off the Scal thing, He's a perfect bottom of the rotation player on this team... ownership doesn't care about the salary when we're like 85 billion dollars over the luxury tax.

Utah must have been very uncomfortable with the idea of giving Brewer $6-7 million per season on a multi-year contract.

Very nice pickup for the Grizz.  I expect them to make the playoffs this year.

Brewer is a very nice young player to get for pretty much nothing.  Also gives them a fall back option if they can't manage to sign Rudy Gay this summer.

Chris Wallace is looking pretty good right about now.
