Sean Williams is a bad basketball player.
I can see some sense in signing him and trying to develop him in non-game situations ... hoping that maybe next year or the year after he'll be able to contribute.
But expecting him to join this team ... Outplay the Celtics backup big man and be a positive contributor to this team? I think that's impossible.
In a game like this against the lakers.......(If he was on the roster), I would like to see him, get slighlty more time, and Baby a little less time, against a team like the Lakers with their extra long/tall front court guys.
Now a game against tmrw's portland, I would want to see a lot of Baby, and very little of Sean Williams.
I think using Williams in situations like this, would best serve the C's right now this season.
I am not saying he beat out Sheed or Baby for their minutes, but I think Doc needs to have options, and be able to have some diversity along his front-court to adjust to certain matchups if he wanted to. Right now he HAS to go with Baby.
But like I said, in a game like tonight against the frontcourt of the lakers and other teams with big front courts, I would use Sean Williams more then Big Baby.....but games like Portland, and most of the games of the season, Baby would get more minutes.
