BEAT LA!!!

I will catch the replay tomorrow (I really wish I could watch it live but it starts at 4:30 am here... way too late).

Hopefully Nate plays tonight in his first game as a Celtic.

I feel good about this one.

TP FL and go Celtics!

PS : I'm sure Kobe will announce he is playing just before tipoff to put all the spotlights back on him. ::)

lol, has anyone else read this Vince Thomas article on NBA.com about the Lakers and Celtics?

My favorite part:
Quote
The really troubling thing is that the Lakers are the exact kind of team that I'd dislike, maybe even hate, if I weren't a lifelong fan. It took me about six seasons and two championships to fully embrace Kobe. Why? I don't know ... I mean, he wore sunglasses to his "going pro" press conference. And other stuff like -- right around the time I was listening to Moment Of Truth and Black On Both Sides -- busting lame raps on "K.O.B.E." with Tyra Banks singing the hook. Even though he's won my squad way too many games, he remains perilously close to "unlikable" if you're the type of person that wants to take it there.

Not even a Laker fan can deny that there team sucks.  :P

Go Celtics!

Big game tonight for the Celtics.  They didn't make any major moves and have decided to go with what they have for the most part.  Unless something changes it's going to be a struggle as the C's have not played consistent basketball for several weeks now.

If Kobe plays tonight it will be a tough battle.  If he sits again then the Celtics simply have to win this game.  It should be a solid win using the same logic that many here have used when KG or Pierce was out. If the Lakers can beat the Celtics without far and away their best player then it sends the message that the C's have no chance to beat LA if they somehow meet in the Finals.  Kevin Mchale was talking about it tonight on TNT saying that the C's HAVE to win tonight if Kobe doesn't play.

Should be interesting to say the least...

I like how we match-up with the Lakers' starters for the most part. KG's pretty much tailor-made for guarding Pau and Rondo gives them major problems in an up-tempo game.

If Pierce can outplay Artest I really like our chances tonight.

A win would be a great statement and a loss would be very tough.  Still, it's not game 7 of the NBA Finals.  A win or a loss doesn't really mean all that much.

What are the chances Eddie comes running out of the tunnel tonight to hit a few threes? Just for old times sake.

[dang] I am going to miss E.House.

Doc and Danny trying to sell us on Nate's defense... I'm not buying.

Nate is a pretty good defender against point guards when he's locked in. When he's focused and is putting in consistent effort. That didn't happen often enough in NY but I think it will here in Boston.

His team defense can create some turnovers but for the most is poor.

His pick and roll defense is poor too. He rarely fights through picks.

Best case scenario --- Nate is a shorter version of Vinnie Johnson aka "The Microwave".  He came off the bench for the Pistons in their glory years and provided a huge spark with scoring bursts and decent defense.  If Nate develops into that kind of consistent threat off the bench then the C's will benefit greatly with this trade.

But is it worse than House's? Impossible.

In honor of Australia's first gold medal in the Winter Games since Bradbury, I give you this. Anything can happen, even if you are the guy (or team) dragging their you-know-what....
