My new nickname for Perkins is "The Oaf."

I can't believe how badly his game has deteriorated. Every time he's involved in a play he turns it over or something else bad happens. I can't remember the last time he set a pick without fouling.

I would trade him in a heartbeat if some other team wanted him.  You could replace him with Dwayne Jones from the D league and be just as effective.

One possibility is that he's hurt, e.g. a flare up of his plantar fasciitis.  Or maybe he fears a trade, and figures that if he plays really badly, no other team will want him.

Does anyone still want to argue that he is better than Andris Biedrins LOL?

the last 10 games or so he is killing boston with dumb fouls, missed bunnies and horrible turnovers...throw in the poor FT % and perk has taken steps back. he needs to at least play balanced and not hurt the Cs

At this point he seems to be a player that is best used against the big centers in the league. The problem is their aren't that many big Centers anymore so he is pretty much a guy that is only best utilized against Dwight.

However if he hit the offensive glass like Davis did last night then I would change my tune.

beindrins has a better skill set, but i would still take perk over him.  he brings a toughness to the team that we need down low.  he fits our system well and is a good defender....not to mention he stays healthy

big head syndrome. finally started to get it on O then went way overboard. demanding the ball, sulking when he doesn't get it.

perk has always been a hard work, nose to the grindstone defender. all of a sudden he's looking for more than that.

memphis is looking for playoff experienced player to augment their youngn's , i'd try and swap m. gassol for perk.

i think that perk believes he is being "tough"...but he crosses a line far too often where it becomes near "thuggery."  i'm not suggesting perk is criminal by any sense, but he has a lack of SELF-CONTROL while on the floor, and those mistakes (turnovers, unnecessary fouls) create bigger issues...

- if he gets a couple cheap fouls early then he can't be on the floor, which throws this team's defensive patterns off entirely.

- when he runs his mouth constantly to the officials he won't get those calls...he's created a reputation for himself, and like it or not, it was HE who created it - not the refs.

personally, i can't stand his game...he brings the ball down way too often, always feels a need to get that one dribble in before going up strong on the offensive boards (though in his defense he seems to have gotten a little better at that this season). 

but this team is changing...they can NO LONGER rely on garnett or ray allen to carry them - they need more offense.  perk may think he's the answer, but he's not.  and i agree with the term that brickowski used, "oaf," because it's the appropriate assessment of perk's clumsy type of game...

Do we really need to start calling our starters names just because they are in a slump or not playing well for an extended period

Seems unfair considering the years of enjoyment they have given us over the last two and a half years

Since the terms "Legend," "Chief," & "Cornbread," are already taken, "Oaf" did seem like a natural fit...  :)

I second, this is kind of a snap judgement on a player who's improved to the nth degree in the last few years.  This slip is a blip on the radar, The Beast will be back

It is pretty baffling.  He played very very well earlier in the season but lately he's been pretty consistently bad.

Hopefully he gets it together again.

Read through the game thread last night

Eddie sucks
Perk is an oaf
Ray is a horse that needs to be put out to pasture
And on and on

If these were Laker fans coming here and saying these things the uproar would be deafening
