Wow, was that ugly. The starters were pretty much brutal for most of the game. I thought Rondo played great defense on Evans and KG got a couple of big rebounds. Pierce also hit a big three. Might have been Perkins' worst game in years, and Ray just can't shoot anymore, and was 5-15 tonight.

Sheed was the player of the game, and while I have been down on him, I am thinking he needs to start to maybe light a fire under Perk's butt. House also came up big tonight and Daniels and Davis played well in the first half. Davis, unfortunately, was a no-show in the second half and at at least three shots blocked.

To be honest though, they play this way the rest of this trip and it will be ugly.

Well this game answered lots of questions for realistic C's fans.  Nothing has changed at all coming out of the break.

KG can't run, jump or finish inside anymore.
Perk has lost it and can't finish inside anymore.
Pierce should have rested instead of going all out All Star weekend.
Rondo just had a bad game hopefully.
Ray can't hit open 3 pointers consistently anymore.

It's painfully obvious that this team which now has a full roster available to play is not getting better.  They have no shot to advance in the playoffs without a major change.  It looks like a definite first or second round exit barring a miraculous turnaround.

i actually think thursday will be a good gage of how and where this team is going...big game...no excuse of overlooking the other team...pretty good rest....full roster available....

This team suddenly has nobody who can finish around the basket, and that puzzles me.  KG's trouble there is understandable because he's working his way back, but what about everybody else?  Ray can't hit a layup, Pierce can't get to the rim, Rondo didn't attack tonight, and Perk's developing post game is suddenly nonexistent again.  Lately, the only Celtic who can score around the basket is Sheed.

No use dwelling on a perceived poor performance in Sacremento. I say that one game must be taken at a time and then take each game one possestion at a time.

I can't believe that the Celtics are this bad overall. If so, then it is what it is and changes will certainly happen at the end of the season.

Sure, it was a close game against a inferior adversary. But the reasons for that are completely different than the reasons for other recent struggles, so at least there is the hope that we can fix what worked until recently, and keep what has improved going.

The only way you can say that "nothing changed" is if you aren't being realistic at all.

This team does not rebound well enough to make up for lost possessions caused by turnovers. When turnovers stop, things will get better i assure you.

Turnovers have always been an issue for this team, even in '08.  As you noted yourself, rebounding is the real culprit.  In '08 our rebounding was good enough to make up for the turnovers.  Now we're a bad rebounding team, so the turnovers hurt a lot more.
