So Portland got Camby instead of us, for not much money, and two not so great players....! A rebounder like him, he leads the league, he is also a good shot blocker...hmmmm sounds like two things we don't really have. Camby could shut down the Cavs rebounding, and shut down Gasol from the Lakers. He could help with all those easy put backs Atlants got on us, and cover Lewis on Orlando...how did we miss that opportunity...Give them Davis and Walker, plus a couple of bucks..!

I had no interest or hope that the Celtics would trade for Marcus Camby. This is an inconsequential move in the western conference - merely a blip.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

agreed, Outlaw is no scrub, he is a starting calibre player and Blake is serviceable.  And honestly, Camby doesn't bring much to our table.  You can't put him next to Perk because you'd have zero offense, and if you put him next to KG, you lose all the goodness Perk brings....

His REBOUNDS..are something we flat out do not have, his DEFENSE, is top notch......like i said, and you saw, who stopped Atlanta from all those second chance points, who stopped Rashard Lewis...and what are we going to do when Cleve signs another big forward...?

The Blazers were able to part with Blake because of the development of Jerryd Bayless and the presence of Andre Miller. Blake returned to Portland before the 2008-09 season and was a starter for much of last season. He began this season in the Blazers' starting lineup as well before taking on a reserve role in December. In 51 games, Blake was averaging 7.6 points and 27 minutes per game for the Blazers.

Outlaw has been one of Portland's key reserves during the Blazers' turnaround in recent seasons. He was the longest-tenured Blazers player after being drafted in the first-round of the 2003 draft by Portland. This season, Outlaw has been limited to just 11 games after breaking his left foot on Nov. 14 at Charlotte. In those limited opportunities, Outlaw was averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds.

Read that, doesn't sound like top notch players to me, how would a pro sports reporter know more than anyone here...? Camby rotates between the two units, great for the second unit, that has no rebounders, go large against the Lakers, who come large against us..uhm remember Gasol, Bynum and Odum..?

Fabulous piece of plagiarism there, maybe you should quote that and allow the person who wrote it the honor of having some credit

As for your point, it doesn't matter what level of total quality player they are what matters is we didn't have that quality in expiring contracts to put together in an area LA wanted

  • LETS DO IT AGAIN!
I was thinking about Camby for the last month and checking everywhere to see any rumors. NOTHING.
Why is that the media can only hear some rumors about trades and not others.
I would have like known about this one, but since the media is clueless, I guess I will look here after the fact.
Again, another great player to come off the bench is gone.
Sheed and Camby with Daniels would have been great.

This doesn't work.  Their salaries don't even come close to each other.

Before poo-pooing the Celtics for not pursuing certain trades, I'd bone up on the NBA's CBA.  It makes for some captivating bathroom literature.

Plagarism it wasn't, pal, so settle down, I just clipped it from the news and couldn't find the guy to give credit to. Big deal, nice way to change your direction after reading that though. You knew I  was trying to place it as a quote....don't take it to heart dude, I just wanted a good rebounder on our team....
