We bringing over the entire all-star weekend! PP the 3pt champ and now Nate. Luv it!

Steve Nash and Kenny the Jet Smith and we are complete!
I wonder what would Barkley do on our team :)...don't let him 20ft near Big Baby :D

I feel that regardless of the trade the team makes, if KG does not regain his form we will not win a championship.

A trade for K-Mart would make us better, but not better than the Cavs, Lakers or Magic without a semi functional kg.

I think the best move would be to trade expirings and maybe a first for a quality young player, that eventually could start.

He was just on Comcast Sports Toinght

- Said Danny is definitely NOT in desperation move

- He is shopping other expiring ( Scal,TA)

- Said there is a good chance Danny is going to have a conversation with Geoff Peitre and sacramento management about a Ray for Kevin Martin + Nocioni tomorrow when the C's are in Sacramento

- Hinrich is still in play ( if he can be had for other expiring besides ray)

- Said he doesn't think the C's are targeting DJ Augustin at all right now.

Allow me to translate:
(1) Danny is in desperation mode
(2) Everyone is for sale
(3) Danny is trying to get another team (like Washington w/ Jamison) to blink by pretending to be active with the "Ray for Kevin Martin" talks.
(4) Danny is trying to get Charlotte to agree to a BBD for DJ Augustin deal by pretending that the Cs are going after Hinrich instead.

In short, if the Cs end up with Mike Miller, Antawn Jamison, and DJ Augustin for Ray and BBD before the trade deadline, you heard it from me first...
 ;)

Lol TP.

Kevin Martin (K-Mart still makes me think of Kenyon Martin) is a quality young player who could start right now.  He's newly turned 27.

See, Kenyon is very mature about someone else assimilating his nickname, unlike a certain 7-foot, 300 pounder we know...

Wrt to a trade for Martin + Nocioni, the only thing I don't like is Martin's propensity to injury. Then again, currently constituted, we won't win (although I do think if we can just add a defending, 3-point-shooting good-sized SF and a solid backup PG with range to the current team we can win), so might as well take the risk.

On the other hand, it must be a little embarassing if the person who takes your nickname runs around wearing a cape...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I trust Nate's game more than Eddie's and it would allow Marquis to move over to the 2/3 where he should be. It would be a little bit of an upgrade and solve our back up pg problems, but here's hoping we can figure out this Kevin Martin thing. It doesn't solve our future problems, which Martin should (barring major injury)...

do you guys see a 3 team trade possibly happening between the celts+knicks+rockets with the rumors about NY interested in Tmac and the C's interested in nate? The rockets can finally get rid of Tmac, the Knicks can possibly get rid of Jeffreys and/or Curry, and the Celts could possibly get a steal for Nate.
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

You guys know how much Celtics players feed off the crowd. But Garden has been quite lately. Its largely due to lack of effort from the players.  Nate could be the jolt of energy to get the Garden crowd again. Would love to see Crowd reaction on a Nate Robinson Dunk.

Thats what I thought when I saw this. The C's need an energy shot and this guy could do just that. It might get the rest of the team going. At this point, I think DA has to take a chance. Whats the worse that can happen? he becomes a cancer and they don't win it all? From the looks of it, thats not going to happen anyway unless some change is made.

My only worry is what of Eddie's minutes?  Given this team's problematic 3 point shooting, he still should be in the rotation somehow.

Im not too worried about House. I would rather have another player on the floor that is not one dimensional. When Eddies hot, its great, but imo those games are too far and few between. We need a guy who can score and provide the energy we need. I would like Daniels to play his position and let Nate do the pg work. I think this move helps our bench in a lot of ways.

It doesn't solve everything, but I do think he will have a bigger impact than people think.

I like Nate's game. Gives us a great scorer off the bench, a hustle guy, and some great great energy. I mean if all it takes is Nate for Scal sorta thing then why wouldnt we do it? I think we are going to make a couple deals. One involving Scal, TA and Giddens contract in a salary dump...One involving big Baby. One trade will net us a big one a pg. I'm not so sure if we'll see Allen pack his bags.

No one ever got rich trading with Geoff Petrie.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia
Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line
and
Never trade with Petrie

I know you're just having fun, but Petrie's rep is overinflated.  It's been awhile since he trade Pollard for Brad Miller.  In fact he's been anything but predatory in his recent dealings.

He traded Salmons and Miller for Nocioni and filler.

He traded Artest for Donte Green, expirings and a draft pick.

He traded Mike Bibby for Shelden Williams and expirings.

Doesn't Martin/Nocioni for Ray Allen and a 1st round pick fit right into that trend?

Inconceivable!

and touche!!  :)

As you wish.

I'd be pretty pumped to pick up Nate Robinson from the knicks for probable spare parts. I'm pro nate.

Yeah, I just started a thread about Nate.  I'd like to get him too.
