After watching Rondo swish like 10 three's in a row during the HORSE ompetition ,it kinda gives me faith that he will be a pretty good jump shooter if he keeps working. He definitely is getting better at shooting, but my question is, if Rondo can hit a 15-18 ft jumper consistently is he a top 10 player ?

I say yes he does everything else good to very good

If he can bring up his free throw % to at least 70% + make 50% of his 15-18 ft jumper he would be so much more dangerous.

He would average  20 and 10 if he could do this.

It's difficult to project any future trends for Rondo until the changing of the guard becomes official.  Still don't know if he can adopt an aggressive leadership position on the court.

Yup, he'd just need to cut down his turn overs at that point to approach CP3 status...

Whatever Nate Archibald was in his prime. I think he has an MVP award when he played for Kansas City. He helped us win the 81 championship as I barely   ;) recall.

I don't really see the Iverson comparison.

Rage has a long way to go and many things to prove before becoming a "Top Ten" NBA player, but he has the abilities, and I have said since first watching him in college that he would one day become one of the best Point Guards of all time, and if he stays healthy, I truly believe that it will come to fruition.

I don't think Rondo would ever look to shoot quite as much as Iverson did.

Rondo with a good J would probably look more like Steve Nash than any other comparable point guard.  Both thrive as passers in transition.  Both use the dribble as a means of disorganizing the defense and not primarily to position themselves to score.  Like Nash, Rondo's first instinct would be to use the threat of his J as a weapon on the pick and roll.

To OP: Yes, I think he can fit into the elite status if he develops a jumpshot. Right now the jumpshot is the only thing missing in his arsenal to put him at the top of the list as the best PG in the game imo.

He needs a better FT% too.

Yep, I hope that with the better jumper it will lead to a better FT%. The Perkins-esque free throw shooting isn't fun to see in your PG.

Quick as hell, great crossover, great handle, gets to the rim at will, tough as nails.
