Why C's don't have a better center? I think that Perkins is a bad player (not a bad player but you can find a better center in NBA league).

Do you agree?

for Perk's skillset, age and contract (Out of a rookie deal) No, it's nearly impossible to find a better talent.

He's still in his rookie contract?

No, I probably worded the words wrong, but for a player in his second+ contract, it's hard to find such a bargain. Especially for a center.

Definitely.

I wasn't sure what contract he was in, I just remember them drafting him a while ago and figured he either signed a LONG rookie contract or was in his second.

Not sure what the limit is on rookie deals, but yea.. Perks been around for ages. Drafted in 2003, I think.

Because they have a top low post defender at the C spot right now at a great contract value.

What else do you want out of your center? Perk rebounds well, plays incredible low post D which would be noticed even more if KG were healthy, and scores well enough too. Sure, he isnt the second coming of Hakeem but when you factor in his contract and that he is improving it really is hard to find a better center in the league. What Perk does goes unnoticed so often. Watch his opponent around the basket and see how often he misses little shots that are usually a given.

He could very well be the best "bang for your buck" center in the NBA.

He's never going to near a 20-10 but he's plays great defense and is a very competent rebounder.  Add to that a very high FG5 on a lot of "gimme" shots and you have a very solid center.

If you're expecting a star, you're going to be disappointed.

RonnieG,

Brazilian is new to our board and should be treated with more respect than "lol'd."  He has every right to voicing his opinion as everyone does, without having to deal with responses like your initial response.

BTW, welcome to the board Brazilian.  Don't let someone's flippant response keep you away.

TP wdleehi  My thoughts exactly.

Perk is one of the best post defenders in the league. He is shooting a great percentage. He is leading the team in blocks and rebounds.   He knows his role and follows it.   And he is a bargain to boot.   Can't get much better than that.

I agree.  Perk does so much that you don't see in the box score.
