Wouldn't the Celtics be able to trump anything Cleveland would have to offer? I mean seriously....

Ok they have Z's Expiring. We have Ray's. Ray is a better player at this point in the game. Now, to replace Amare's empty slot we could send them BBD as well giving them both an expiring from a player that isn't completely over the hill and useless and also a young player that can fill the empty slot left from Amare. There is no way in hell that Hickson is a better player than Baby. Baby proved himself in the playoffs and did it by hitting big shots. Meanwhile Hickson is the beneficiary of being left open from double and triple teams on LeBron. and also beyond Hickson, who does Cleveland have? The Celts could offer Tony Allen, House or Scalabrine.

I see what you're saying, I'm not sure if it would happen but the logic of them doing that would make sense to stick it to the Cavs.

I agree that the Celtics could likely offer more than Cleveland, but it all depends on what Phoenix wants. We'd be crazy to not make a bid for Amare, but they didn't want to deal him here in the summer, I don't know if they would now.

people are underating JJ Hickson.
In my opinion he is better than BBD.
He got a really good physic.
About Davis.
Nobody will spend money for an overweight fat guy,who can have knees problems in the future, due to weight problems.
We alreay saw how much he is considerated in this league, when nobody, and I mean, nobody did a good offer to him, when F.A.

About Stat. I think that he's going to Clev, the game is officially over.

Very good points, Cooze. It's a stretch to imagine Zydrunas fitting into Steve Nash's run-and-gun transition offense with his older legs (Zydrunas has had multiple surgeries on his ankles during the course of his career). If you'll remember Shaq played there last season and slowed the Suns down to a half-court offense due to his size. The Suns barely won 40+ games last season, and though they did better than some teams in the Eastern Conference record-wise they didn't qualify for the playoffs (smh @ last year's Pistons). Hopefully the Celtics would be considered higher up in the pecking order than the Cavaliers if there was an 'Amare Sweepstakes' before the NBA trade deadline this season.

JJ Hickson is considered a superior prospect to Glen Davis.

The only way Boston could top A Cleveland offer is to include Rajon Rondo, or future draft picks way off in the future after the Big Three retire, neither of which is happening.

If Cleveland gets him.....it's over. IMO, steve kerr and danny ferry are doing the ainge-mcHale thing -- send good players to your buddy's team for practically nothing. first shaq, now this.

I think Boston could match or beat Cle for this trade but probably would have to include Perk, not Davis:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ox3fpj

Ray and Perk for Amare and Barbosa for example.

With this Daniels and Amare become starters probably.

I am just not sure we want to do this.  I think Amare wants to go to Miami based on what I have seen of his quotes and he doesn't seem to me to be what we need for the next few championship runs.

Jefferson hardly qualifies as practically nothing.

Exactly, and Shaq was a failed experiment. Everyone agreed that expirings would be worth more to Phoenix.
