Now I'm one to say that I watched every single game of that 18 game losing streak.  I bring this question up because I feel like the majority of people's first reaction is to say the 18 game losing streak.

At least this was mine.  After thinking about it though, this year may be even harder.  We had many high expectations for this team this year, none of which of lived up to the hype.  At least with that '06 team and the 18 game losing streak, we had come to expect it and no one was really that surprised by it because that team really was that bad.

This team and year however is much more frustrating because of the expectations.  Now I'm not saying I'd rather sit through an 18 game losing streak because I wouldn't.  But it really is something to ponder about......."wow, this season is even more frustrating than a season that consisted of an 18 game losing streak.  Who woulda thought"

This year.

It's frustrating as heck to see a team that many considered "championship caliber" at the beginning of the season, struggle and limp their way along over the course of the season.  The never-ending parade of injuries, the frustrating 2nd half collapses, the lose to the dreaded Lakers.

At least it's Feb and hope still exists that this team will find its identity and get back to the point where many of us felt they'd be.

The 18 game losing season was frustrating but we already had the understanding that the '06-07 team was not going to contend for a title and probably not even a playoffs berth.  We saw it as a young team having its growing pains.  Also, the lure of Oden/Durant at the time was enough to make subdue some fans' feelings.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
The 18 game losing streak. I made a vow not to shave until it was broken after the first four losses. I can't grow a beard. My girlfriend couldn't look at me after loss 14.

It was terrible.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

This year hands down. There seemed to be a pot of gold at the end of the 18 game losing streak season.

It's much more frustrating to be draw in game after game by a team that clearly has the talent and the experience to win a lot of games only to see them collapse in the second half over and over.

At least with the 18 game losing streak you knew the team was terrible and you could rationalize how losing games was actually a good thing since it meant a chance at a better lottery pick.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

This is more frustrating. But I still prefer this over the 18 game losing streak.

You know the whole "it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all?" Well, this is "it's better to have hoped and lost to have never hoped at all."

I'll take the frustration that comes with higher expectations over the hopelessness of a bad team.

That year expectations were low and I thought the sky was the limit for the youngsters. I loved watching those players develop and during the losing streak I had dreams of Oden, (who I thought would be the next great center), running around my head.

This year expectations are high. The team looks old so I know that if we don't make a run this year that's likely it for us. That being said I still believe in this team.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

This year for sure. During the losing streak at least you got the feeling they were playing hard and would only get better. This year it seems they are only getting worse. KG, Ray and Pierce aren't going to get younger.

This year.

We knew that team wasn't a contender.

We thought this team was a title favorite.

That team had the promise of a better future.

This team has the promise of restarting everything.

This year because it looks like certain players on this team have either quit or have seen their skills eroded to the point where it's uncomfortable to watch them even try to play.

I didn't mind the losing streak aside from the historical implications... I was rooting for us to lose to get the #1 pick and take Durant (not Oden).

This year I don't mind either because I don't see this team doing anything, and I haven't really since early this season.

I am more rooting for us to keep this train rolling by trading Ray for the right price.

Hands down the 18 game losing streak.  You knew that team sucked and that there was no hope.  Now, it's frustrating, because I was hoping for a historical season; however, there's still time to turn this thing around.  In case some people out there forgot, the playoffs don't start for two months.

The 18 game losing streak was horrific. I could barely look at the TV during that time. Far worse than this season.

The rest of that season wasn't so bad though, I enjoyed watching Big Al become a Star and several of the youngsters trying to break through.
