This team is embarrassing. Doc may not be to blame as much as some think though. I am not so sure they are just ignoring him, playing like a bunch of punks.

I would love to see Doc 0 - a guy I genuinely like - resign after this game, admitting the team is completely out of control. He will get another job, he has enough creds on his resume to earn it.

Tonight was nothing short of disgusting.

If only so he goes to coach a team that actually wants to win and will listen to what he tells them.

Totally agree. Docs time is up with this group. First I would ask Tommy to coach the rest of this year. If Tommy didnt want too I would give the clipboard to either Hill or Tibs and let the vets run the team.

confusing thread title.

we should make Thibs head coach. That way we could have our starters on the floor 48 minutes a game.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

If Doc were to go ... it would have to be an experienced head coach.

I don't trust a rookie coach to get through to this veteran team.

Here's a shortlist

Avery Johnson
Paul Silas
Jeff Van Gundy
Del Harris
Sam Mitchell
Lawrence Frank
Byron Scott
Mike Fratello
Phil Johnson
Doug Collins

Tommy needs to come outta retirment. He is prolly the only one that could bring a championship outta this group.

+1. Avery would do wonders and he seems to like this team.

I'd rather see fans admit that the big three, paul included, simply aren't good enough health or athleticism wise two years removed from the championship season to play with teams that have younger, talented players.

I think you could but Jerry sloan in charge of this team, and athletic teams that hustle their tails off would still have a pretty good chance of beating us.

I mean, our main problems are clear:

Consistently out rebounded - age and athleticism is a factor.

Lose focus in the 3rd and fourth - Out of gas, age and athleticism is a factor

Settle for jump shots- Easier and less taxing than driving all night, age is a factor.

I feel like the vets know they don't have much at all left in the tank, so they are telling themselves once they get to the playoffs, they will be able to turn it on for two quick months.

Sadley for them and us, i doubt that's the case.

The only coach that is bringing this team back to contention is this guy:

He can bring us the Big Three, circa 2002 or so, then we'd be fine.

I think it's the first three names that are the most interesting because each of them has taken over a team mid-season in the past and turned them around.

Paul Silas interests me. He'd make this team run ... give Rondo the keys and let him lead.

Nicely done.

The whole "age and athleticism" argument doesn't really work since our younger players seem to have the same struggles as the starters in the third.
