The coach's contracts are guaranteed, too.
But it looks like Doc might actually try coaching the team for a while. We'll see what that means. I remember when he took Pierce out during Doc's first year to make a point. After the big trades, he turned running the team over to PP, Ray, and mostly KG. Perhaps, as their games diminish, they have less pull over the younger guys, and aren't holding themselves up to a high standard, either, and Doc recognizes it's time for him to step back in.
Or Danny totally reamed out Doc's behind and told him to earn some of the millions he's getting paid to coach?
