Boston Trades:

C : Kendrick Perkins
PF: Glen Davis
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Bill Walker

Boston Receives:

PF: Amare Stoudemire
SF: Grant Hill
SG: Leandro Barbosa

I dont know how this trade would affect this team short term, But long-term a Rondo to Stoudemire connection would definitely be the top Young PG to PF combo in the league I believe barnone. And this trade also provides us alot more athleticism against the likes of a Dwight Howard. Amare could take him outside & match his athleticism around the rim. He played Center in the Wewstern Conference for a couple of years & made the Allstar team out West which at the time was hard to do. Phoenix loves to run & gun as Ray Allen would be the ultimate hired gun & flourish in that system with Steve Nash undoubtedly!
Would hate giving up Perk but you have to give up talent in order to receive it in return most times, Plus Phoenix has incentive to do this because never in its history besides Shaq's short stay has it ever had a legitimate Center in his prime. Also Grant Hill & Barbosa would give Doc great lineup flexibility against certain teams. Our new lineup would be:

C : Amare Stoudemire
PF: Kevin Garnett
SF: Paul Pierce
SG: Leandro Barbosa (Quickest Back Court in the league)
PG: Rajon Rondo (Still A Championship caliber lineup)

2nd Unit

C : Rasheed Wallace
PF: Sheldon Williams & Brian Scalabrine
SF: Grant Hill (who could also start & Move Pierce to SG)
SG: Leandro Barbosa & Tony Allen
PG: Marquis Daniels & Eddie House

This trade also works in trade checker!

Phoenix Lineup:

C : Kendrick Perkins
PF: Glen Davis or Channing Frye
SF: Bill Walker or Dudley from B.C.
SG: Ray Allen (Contract provides them a 2010 major player card)
PG: Steve Nash

I think this is a trade Danny should keep a good eye upon in the coming weeks before the trade deadline.

I would do it. But wouldn't trade our #1 pick. Stoudemire is a major upgrade and should put us over the top.
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

And also would leave incredible holes in our defense and distrupt our defensive scheme. Plus Stoudemire is truly a PF. It would be nice to see Rondo and Stoudemire connect over the next few years though. With that being said I stay away from trading Perkins...People wont know how important he is to this team until we actually end up trading him.

Stoudemire is not an upgrade - not when you consider the whole package.  Good post scorer - low effort defender, not precisely unselfish.

After the trade, who on the Celtics can guard Dwight Howard?

I'm uncertain ... but it's definitely worth considering.

The defensive downgrade makes the Celtics more vulnerable in their hunt for a tittle this season. That is the priority rather than strengthening for the future. I'm undecided about how much more vulnerable it makes them though because Stoudemire is one heck of an offensive player.

  • Rondo = Good
I'd do it if we got J-Rich instead of Grant Hill.  Barbosa hasn't been healthy and I don't like a backcourt of Rondo + Barbosa.

On the flip side, who would Dwight guard when all 3 of our post players could pull him & the Polish Hammer away from the basket. Garnett, Wallace & Stoudemire would kill him with 12-15 footers.
