That was refreshing. Solid defense, great bench play and Pierce looks good. Also, Glen and Marquis playing solid ball.

Negatives -- No one has guarded Songalia and once again way too many turnovers.

New Orleans looks like it has no interest in playing this game tonight. No way the Celts should let them back in.

Played like absolute crap and up 12. Reminds me a lot more of the two previous seasons as opposed to this year.

so how do they look? i cant watch since broadband doesnt show nba TV games

Well, aside from the turnovers, they look really good. A lot of movement both on D and O, a lot of good defensive help, great passing game, great individual moves (KG most notably, Sheed in the post), and they are attacking the basket almost everytime instead of going for jumpshots.

The bench made a huge difference and got a big lead.

Now we are up 12 heading into the 3rd... we know the plot, let's hope it changes starting today!

But seeing the energy and intensity from the C's so far I just don't see how they could collapse... let's see what happens.

What? Didn't you enjoy the energy of the C's? Turnovers were a monstruosity, I agree, but to me this team looks very different from the one we've seen in the past few months in terms of energy and movement!

Now the Celtics're gonna mess things up and blow a 12-point lead in the second half

The 2nd half can't come soon enough. Can we win a game where we have a double digit lead? The suspense is killing me.

Glenn: in the second half, don't bury Quizy on the bench and overplay the starters. That is all I ask. Eight minutes sounds about right.

I dub him "The Stabilizer."

This is actually really funny tonight. We are all sitting on pins and needles wondering if they will blow another double digit lead. How things have changed.

Our bench had 25 points in the 1st half. To me, that's a god send this season.

I mean, even Sheed's doing well! 8 points on 4/5 shooting and he's actually in the paint!

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
In the first half the bench was better than the starters.

The plus/minus on ESPn seem to be telling the same story.

Everyone on the bench who played has a +/- of at least +8.

KG is the only starter with a positive +/- at +4.

Yeah, here are the stats : Celtics bench in first half: 12 of 19, 25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, 3 blocks. Even better: Rasheed Wallace - 0 for 0 from 3.

LOVED the ball movement in the 2nd(aside from the turnovers)...Marquis and Rasheed looked good---NO Rondo in the 2nd??....and Bavetta took 3 points away from us ( 2:42 left in 2nd qtr )on that 3 second call on Perk--Rewound the DVR, he wasn't in there for 2 seconds, let alone 3...and of course Eddie hits a 3.

Yea, cut the turnovers in half and it's already a blowout. I just felt we didn't play well because a lot of those turnovers were in "easy-score" situations. Other than that, you can't be too mad at a half where the starters got plenty of rest and got a decent lead.

I'm just praying this is how the Celtics feel, too.
