I'm definitely more interested in this now that Rondo is in.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

According to Gary Washburn's Twitter :

Rajon Rondo to be in HORSE competition with durant, casspi

It will be fun to see Rondo compete but I don't understand ; I guess he wasn't selected for the Skills Challenge because of his poor shooting and yet he is invited in a shooting competition?! :o

Rondo is no shooter, NBA really screwed up on this.

???

Dont you think is easier for rondo to shoot a FT or a 3
than to KDurant or OC
to hit a crazy I am the only who can do that shot that they
never practice before????

Sometimes i dont get it. :-\

Its not a shooting challenge

It's a trick shot challenge, and he can fix it. Last year sucked it was just Durant and JJ shooting the ball from really far away. I thought it was REALLY bad.

totally agree. last year the announcers tried to sound excited with each shot, but when Durant started taking corner 3s it was impossible to be excited about that.

I think Rondo is a good fit for this challenge. He's got the competitiveness to take it more seriously and the confidence to risk embarrassment and try some crazy stuff. Plus he doesn't have a 3 pt shot, so he's going to have to be creative.

Hopefully KD doesn't try to duplicate last year's "let's shoot 3s till someone misses" formula.  ::)

I've never actually seen it, I assumed it was just hitting jump shots, not trick shots.

just as long as they don't put scalabrine in the dunk contest i'm fine...

...i'm kinda old-school, so i don't really care for all-star weekend.  i won't go into details (for fear of upsetting people) but i don't like what it's become over the last several years.

I wanna see something ill. Some ridiculously impossible shot.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Maybe if the other guys shoot 3's, Rondo will shoot like he does when the clock is winding down. Anyone else notice that he is almost automatic when the shot clock is at 1? It's uncanny.

Well, I am very excited to see him in this and it will be cool to watch. With some of the precision-spin bounce passes I have seen him throw, I'm sure he has some great tricks up his sleeve.

One thing is hitting 3s during a game and there is pressure, but its something completely different shooting 3s for the sake of shooting 3s.  I think many players can make 3s if there is no pressure.  If that is the strategy, I can def see Rondo making 5 3-pointers in a row before missing one.

By the way, let's hope the HORSE trophy this season will be different, because I would be embarrassed for Rondo - or Durant or Casspi for that matter - if he won a trophy as ridiculous as last year's :

It looks like a doll poney! :o :-X

Don't forget that Rondo won't have to make ANY long shots at all if he has control.

If he can survive until he has control, he'll win. As long as he keeps making his own shots. I trust that Rondo will because they will be close to the basket trick shots that he has practiced for a lifetime.

However, I actually think Rondo is the opposite. He seems to make 3's way more often when the clock is winding down than if he is just taking a normal set jumper.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?
