Yes. Dalembert is almost a wash with Perkins and would bring better rebounding. Ideally, we could get Dalembert + Iguodala and use Perkins to get some more talent (maybe even by moving Rasheed Wallace with him?).

why on earth would a non-contending team want wallace and his contract?

What non-contending team? Obviously that hypothetical team primary goal would be to get Perkins, not Wallace. For example, Dallas should do it.

I agree that by himself Wallace is unmovable.

Dallas has nothing to do with adding wallace to a deal with philly, which is what i was responding to.

If your going to completely change the hypo to trading with the Dallas mavericks instead of the OP's hypo with the sixers, then my take on Wallace in such a deal would be different.

EDIT: ah, i see, i misread your statement. I didn't see that you waere talking about trading perk and wallace to a second team rather than adding them to the sixers deal.

In that case, you weren't responding to me.

My point is that if Dalembert is acquired in an hypothetical deal with Philly, than Perkins is expendable and should be traded for value immediately - be it in the same trade or in a different one.

If we could move Wallace and Scal for Dampier or Heywood, to counter some the Howards, Shaqs and Bynums we're going to face in the playoffs, then I am in.

Until then, out.

No. I think that is too much to give up. I admit Iggy would be an upgrade, but I think someone like Ronnie Brewer would be a better option because we get to keep Perk. Brewer plays better defense and fits in with the team concept. Iggy on the other hand is not a good half court player. I just think Perk+Brewer>>>>>Iggy and Dalembert (In terms of talent and contracts)

We shouldn't give up 2 starters to help Philly out from under Sammy's contract.  We'd be way over-paying.

I'd consider sending Ray, Davis and TA for Iggy and Sammy though.  That is about the only Ray trade I could get behind actually.

I don't think I would trade Perk under any circumstances at this point.

Eventhough it would be nice to get Iquodala, it is not worth giving up Perk for him.

At first I wasn't hesitant to part with Perk, but then I started thinking of his upcoming contract and the likelihood of our team likely setting itself up for a FA splash in the summer of 12. If we trade Perk then we don't have to deal with his new contract and the dollars it will command. That said, we would have only Rondo & AI under contract with hopes of landing Durant or someone else during free agency.

Something like this could work...

Boston Trades: RA, Perk, Scalabrine, and a 1st (2011)

Philly Trades: AI, Dalembert, Kapono, and a 1st (2013)

2010-11 Roster (players under contract):

KG, PP, Dalembert, Rondo, AI

Sheed, BBD, Walker, MLE player...Look to re-sign Daniels to a 2 yr deal...try to re-sign House and/or TA to the vet minimum. If that's not possible, then we look for other cheaper alternatives to round out the roster. We also would have a huge chunk of expiring contracts in Dalembert, BBD, and Kapono. We could trade any combination of those players for a contract no longer than 2 yrs and not running past the 2012 season. Also, trading away our pick next yr. serves a dual purpose. One, it helps sweeten the deal for Philly. And two, it doesn't add to our cap for 2012.

2011-12 Roster (players under contract):

KG, PP (?), Sheed, Rondo, AI

Daniels & perhaps whichever player we acquired for the Dalembert/Kapono/BBD expirings.

Summer of 2012:

Only AI and Rondo under contract. The only thing that could impact this is the PP contract. Hopefully, he signs a deal where it's backloaded and with an absurdly low cap number for the 2012-13 season.

No, but I would definitely do Ray+Rasheed for Iggy+Dalembert OR Ray+BBD+Walker or Giddens for Iggy+Dalembert....
but philly says no I think  :'(

Bos sends: Perk + Ray
Phi sends: Iguodala + Dalembert

Boston gets much more athletic. They lose low post defense , but get a very good shot blocker and rebounder( better than Perk). Dalembert can finish on alley oops that Perk can't so we would have a nice running 3 some with Rondo and Iggy. PP and KG can trail the fast break and get wide open looks from 18 for KG and 3pt land for PP.

They could likely make a small trade with the rest of their expiring contracts to get a guy like Kurt Thomas to throw up against Shaq.

Yeah I would do this trade. No offense to Ray and Perk but I've always had a soft spot for Iggy and Dalembert and think they would just make us a better team for the short and long term.

i'd do ray and wallace for iggy and dalembert
get that sheed fellah out a heah!

i wouldn't trade perk for anyone other that another young, strong, d oriented big. dalembert is not strong enough to guard howard. thus  perk for m gassol.
