Per the Celtics twitter :

Pierce didn't finish Monday's practice and Doc labels him questionable for Wednesday vs New Orleans.

It seems like Pierce did rush his comeback to play against Orlando and may have suffered from it.

Hopefully it's nothing severe and he will be fine, because it would suck to lose Pierce for a few games now that Marquis has finally come back.

I am not surprised, Pierce did not look good at all yesterday, and probably should have taken more time before coming back.

This team really should be more cautious with bringing guys back too early.

I thought it was foolish to rush Pierce back against Orlando. The move smacked of desperation (with the victory, Orlando now owns the tiebreaker), even though the gain was marginal.

Pierce should sit out the next game, and perhaps the All-Star festivities.

On a positive note, I'm hoping to see those NOLA Mardi Gras uniforms the Hornets were sporting in last week's game (vs. Charlotte, IIRC). Those are sweet.

I completely blame Doc. I knew Pierce would try to come back for Orlando and I knew Doc would let him. He says we're in it for the long haul, but risks Pierce healthy down the road for a single game. The fact that we didn't win that game makes it even worse.

My limited faith in the training staff grows smaller everyday. They and Doc really need to be more cautious about bringing back injured players.
I wish Pierce a safe and speedy return. I hope you are fully recovered next time you're on the court.

I don't think Doc rushed Paul back to play, I think Paul rushed back a little because he wanted to play in the all-star game and to the three point contest. I doubt that it was a huge risk down the road.

I know this is a completely different can of worms, but i've had zero faith in this training staff since they told big al he was imagining lingering pain in his foot and we found out later it was bone chips.

The current training staff of the Boston Celtics is not good enough.

While i don't directly place the blame for player's health at their door step, it's hard to ignore that between big al, GG, ta at one point, Kevin last year if DA is to be believed, Leon and now paul, that they routinely misdiagnose (kg,al)/ sign of on players returns (Pierce, Possibly KG last year for his aborted comeback, Powe) without a through examination.

Just one of my pet peeves, that the training staff is never given any gruff. I have little confidence in their overall abilities.

If I were Stan Van Gundy, I'd play pierce 48 minutes on Sunday and laugh all the way to the playoffs.

They should shut Pierce down until a week AFTER all star weekend.  He's doing himself and the team no good whatsoever playing at half speed, and I do not think he should play in the all star game.  Let them name an alternate.

PP was dumb in the first place in deciding to play only because its against the Magic and its a barometer game...Well, he certainly found out that he isn't quite ready yet even his 3pt shots are off. He really ought to know by now that nothing is accomplished in playing hurt in regular season games.

Every competitive player is gong to want to play. If they can or not is the COACH'S decision.

Thats why the team pays them to make decisions. Doc made a bad one here.

No problem with Pierce playing yesterday and with Doc letting him. Look at the injuries Kobe has played through. Some of you might think that is foolish, but so far Kobe has not looked worse for the wear.

if i were management, i'd approach pierce and kg about not playing in the all star game. let one of the younger players get the opportunity. those two need the rest, as we need them fresh for the playoffs.

See, I place all of the blame on the trainer. It is usually the trainer's call when there is a medical issue and there is no way the coach knows or should know what type of injury he is dealing with. How is Doc (despite the name) supposed to know when it is a minor or intermediate injury?

And as a player, you always want to play.
