With all the back and forth about whether Danny *should* trade Ray, I'd like to know if you think he WILL trade him.

I think he will.

I think he has been, and will continue to try to trade him, but ultimately, I don't think he will get what he wants for him.

I don't think he's been actively trying to trade him unless a great offer came in, but he's been guaging the market. I think that one of the 76ers/Kings/Warriors/Bullets might flinch and pull the trigger, but Danny may or may not be the one that gets the trade. It could be Cleveland/Dallas/Houston.

I think he will trade him. Ray will be the fall guy for Dannys poor offseason decisions. I doubt he can improve this team with a Ray trade though.

I really don't think Ray is going to end up a "fall guy".  I think he will be traded as means to improve the team, by taking advantage of a team desperate to shed salary, if a deal happens (which I think is less than 50%).  While there has been some anti-Ray venom on here, I think that is just a little whining because the team is playing terribly at the moment, however, if he is actually traded, I think everyone will acknowledge what he meant to the team.

A trade of Ray is a pragmatic move, to take advantage of the salary cap situation.

I actually would take it the other way, because it makes the most sense for the future of the team, if the right package can be had.  Danny probably wanted to trade Ray all along, but would have had trouble explaining it, if they were not struggling (though I think he might have pulled the trigger anyways).  So the teams struggles, have just made it a little easier for Danny to do what he knew was the best move all along.

I think he doesn't.

I think that it comes down to the fact that teams with the good players will decide they need more then just money coming off the books next year.

I think Ainge decides it is better to let Ray expire then to hamper the Celtics with two or more bad contracts for average players.

My guess is that Danny will stand pat unless he gets something he can't pass up.  I don't think Danny will do anything out of desperation though.

I think Danny trades him in a deal the underwealms the fanbase. Then when everyone is ready to riot Ray gets bought out and signs with us for the playoff run.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

30 day window for us to wait to resign him, March 1 I believe (correct me if wrong) is the last day to add playoff eligible parts.  That is not happening.

Fairly certain that a player has to be waived prior to March 1st to be playoff eligible for another team. Not signed.

No, I think Ray Allen stays put. I do not deny, however, that Danny Ainge is calling other GM's (and receiving offers for Ray) in order to evaluate Allen's perceived worth around the league. This may be used as a benchmark to assess Ray's comparative value to players desired around the league. But Ainge seems to do this with every player on his roster, as a way of keeping up to date with the trade market.

I think, honestly, that with the release of Lester Hudson, Ainge is more interested in finding a player through waiver wire or buy out to fill the final and 15th roster spot. This might lead to a minor trade involving Big Baby perhaps (or the other way around). Rest assured, if Ainge is watching this team as closely as we all are, he knows they won't win a title standing pat. But I doubt he will go as far as to trade Ray Allen. But I could be wrong.
