His back to the basket game is so predictable, and ugly. I cringe everytime they throw it down to him in the post. I know he can shoot facing up. The question is, why doesn't he?

It's because he's not quick. The bigs with the best faceup game are usually quick and decent shooters. Perk is neither of those things.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

How do you know he can shoot facing up?  The only times I have seen him do it, he has been VERY inconsistent.  He had a couple good games where he hit a couple shots, but more often than not, he would miss pretty badly.

Perk simply does not have very good touch.  Even when he scores, the ball does not go in softly.  Without touch, its tough to have a face-up game.

He is what he is. Do we expect him to play like a max player?

I can't remember exactly when, but i do recall him having a nice little jumper. Even if i'm mistaken, and he doesn't have one, either he's going to have to develop it, or stop demanding the ball in the post. Any defender with half a brain can predict what move Perk is about to perform with the ball. Throwing the ball down to Perk in the post is a huge mistake. We would be better off without the Perk and Baby isolations. Neither one is even slightly effective. Once Doc realizes this team has ZERO capable post players (Sheed and KG don't count, seeing as though neither one of them are willing to plant their butts on the block) the better.

No, i just think either he should develop his game, or stop demanding the ball down there. It seems as though nobody on this team knows what their limitations are except Rondo. Perk is in denial. He doesn't realize how predictable his post game is. Sheed is in denial. He doesn't realize how bad of a 3 point shooter he is. Paul is in denial. He doesn't realize that the elbow isolations aren't getting it done anymore. Ray is in denial. He doesn't realize his 3 point shot is no longer automatic. Once the guys on this team realize what their limitations are, maybe they'll play better basketball.

I've heard Perk say he doesn't want to have that shot in his reportoir.  He thinks he can get easier shots by working to get closer.  The field goal percentage is evidence that it's true.  But I think things would be a lot easier for him if he took the occasional short jumper.  That would reduce his turnovers and he wouldn't be forcing so much.

I have nothing bad to say about Perk because hes what he is and
still getting a little better in some cats

The reason the celtics are losing is NOT Kendrick perkins
at least not him as a negative in the equation

More
With more playing time this season hes only responding with better stats (when he plays over 35 mins a game)

No. But after, what, five years in the league, you would expect him to still not be the least coordinated big man in the league. The guy moves slower than plate tectonics.

I agree that Perk is getting better in every facet of the game, but i just don't see the reason for throwing him the ball down there, instead of trying to get one of the 4 All Stars a good look. Now, if Perk is playing with the bench guys, sure, throw it to him in the post. But while Perk is on the floor with the other 4 starters, i don't think he should see the ball on the block unless he has a smaller defender on him, or unless he learns to diversify his game a little bit more.

He is shooting 61.8% from the field. Why does he need to face up.  Get him some more touches.

Please no. He turns the ball over way too much to get any more touches than he already does.

Apparently you haven't seen Andris Biedrins or Hilton Armstrong.

I am happy to admire a big who enjoys playing like a big.  And he can make the short baseline J from time to time.  He takes too long in the pain to load up, but he is a useful offensive player.  Best screener in the league, best scowler in the league, and maybe the best non Duncan/Howard post defender too.  Really he might be the best non-rookie dollar for dollar player in the league.

More touches? I think that is the last thing the Celts need to do right now. Perk takes so long to gather himself to shoot it is incredible. And, he has become a deep, dark black hole whenever he gets the ball down there. As for him being the best screener in the league, I would amend that to say the best screener in the league who normally gets called twice almost every game for setting illegal screens. As for the scowl, that is beyond tired. The guy needs to lighten up a little.
