lately rondo's voiced his "frustration" though with his affect it can be hard to tell.

so why didn't he keep it "in house?"

i'm guessing it's because keeping it in house wasn't getting it done, so he let his frustration get the better of him and he talked to the media in an attempt to try something "anything" to help the situation, or at least force it to be addressed.

so let's speculate, who is he having trouble with?
   is it his buddy perk?
one of the declining big 3,
ronald aka uno uno aka the eleventh hour davis?

my guess is rondo's frustration stems from 2 of the older players.
   but for different reasons.

Rasheed Wallace:
the biggest issue.
since game 1 of preseason, sheed has been coasting, but what do you do with a lazy, recalcitrant vet, who's already been quoted saying something to the effect of no one's going to change him. he was referring to his dealings with the refs, but it also applies to his relationship with his team. who can get to this guy? who can motivate him? if KG and Doc can't do it, than there's no way rondo can. i'm sure rondo feels a bit helpless in this regard, which might help explain his slightly desperate (desperate might be to strong here) statements to the media. to compound the issue, i'm sure you have to be very tactful when approaching sheed or he'll whip out his temper tantrum card which might even result in resentment on both sides. very difficult and frustrating for a young point card to deal with.

Ray Allen: the lesser of the two concerns.
ray's bball IQ is not as great as most would think (or at least his execution of what he's thinking), and now that he's losing his athleticism (though thankfully not his stamina), his poor choices are becoming more pronounced. he's always been a great scorer but not a good playmaker, and it doesn't seem like he's aware of that as he often stops the ball, resulting in a turnover or forced bad shot. you can see rondo get frustrated with ray during the games when ray takes the ball himself. but how do you get the future hall-of-famer to comply? thankfully it's not like he constantly does this, it's just painful to watch when he does...

Rondo isn't making press releases. He is answering questions. I don't read too much into his comments. Especially since he is a difficult person to start with.

Who cares who Rondo is talking about? He was just answering a question and it really doesn't matter.

On another note it's pretty crazy how you can say that Rasheed has been "coasting since the first preseason game".
And even though i agree with Ray sometimes making bad decision... you can't just have him run off a screen over and over and over, he needs to score in other ways.

I'm 50% with you on Ray.

100% against you on Sheed, over this stretch you can't say that he's the reason for losing, I'd actually say that his defense this year as been excellent (The Rashard Lewis play was a result of multiple breakdowns). It seems like you just have some vendetta against Rasheed, but it's OK because your definitely not the only one.

good points.

i should have mentioned that i'm not blaming ray or sheed, and i don't think this is a big deal. i'm just analyzing rondo's comments/answers.

i agree that sheed's always been an outstanding individual defender. He was always the toughest match-up for Al Jefferson in the paint. but i maintain that he's coasting. the reality is that it may be the right thing to do... save it for the play-offs. but this seems to be difficult for rondo to reconcile with.

and i agree that ray needs to keep the d on its toes by giving them different looks. good point. rondo's going to have to become more comfortable with that.

Because he's some combination of not smart, experienced, and/or mature enough to keep his mouth shut and mouth the usual sports-speak. At his age, I'd chalk it up to experience first. Wisdom's all too often is hard-earned.

I think when PP or RA go 1 on 1 it gets frustrating for Rondo.....and me too.  When Rondo has the ball in his hands this team is better and Doc and the vets need to realize it.

He's coasting, but then again, he's been coasting his whole career.  Even more in the past few years.
