lately rondo's voiced his "frustration" though with his affect it can be hard to tell.
so why didn't he keep it "in house?"
i'm guessing it's because keeping it in house wasn't getting it done, so he let his frustration get the better of him and he talked to the media in an attempt to try something "anything" to help the situation, or at least force it to be addressed.
so let's speculate, who is he having trouble with?
is it his buddy perk?
one of the declining big 3,
ronald aka uno uno aka the eleventh hour davis?
my guess is rondo's frustration stems from 2 of the older players.
but for different reasons.
Rasheed Wallace: the biggest issue.
since game 1 of preseason, sheed has been coasting, but what do you do with a lazy, recalcitrant vet, who's already been quoted saying something to the effect of no one's going to change him. he was referring to his dealings with the refs, but it also applies to his relationship with his team. who can get to this guy? who can motivate him? if KG and Doc can't do it, than there's no way rondo can. i'm sure rondo feels a bit helpless in this regard, which might help explain his slightly desperate (desperate might be to strong here) statements to the media. to compound the issue, i'm sure you have to be very tactful when approaching sheed or he'll whip out his temper tantrum card which might even result in resentment on both sides. very difficult and frustrating for a young point card to deal with.
Ray Allen: the lesser of the two concerns.
ray's bball IQ is not as great as most would think (or at least his execution of what he's thinking), and now that he's losing his athleticism (though thankfully not his stamina), his poor choices are becoming more pronounced. he's always been a great scorer but not a good playmaker, and it doesn't seem like he's aware of that as he often stops the ball, resulting in a turnover or forced bad shot. you can see rondo get frustrated with ray during the games when ray takes the ball himself. but how do you get the future hall-of-famer to comply? thankfully it's not like he constantly does this, it's just painful to watch when he does...
