The Sixers are reportedly seeking cap relief and are willing to trade Dalembert and Iguodala. The Celtics can offer cap relief via the expiring contracts of Ray Allen and Tony Allen. This trade works according to the Trade Machine:

Send Scal instead of TA and it's a done deal.

I would do the deal if I could turn around and trade Dalembert for something useful, or find a third team to take him.

You don't think Dalembert would be useful?  Great rebounder, shotblocker and finishes everything around the rim with dunks. I'd prefer him to Sheed at this point and I'd rate him about equal to Perk (better rebounder/athlete, inferior post defender).

Problem is he has a 7.5% trade kicker which would make him even more overpaid in a trade.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I still think Ray + Perk for Iggy + Dalembert is worth doing, if that's what it takes to get Iguodala.  We'd be much better in terms of perimeter D and rebounding, and we wouldn't lose that much in terms of post D.

This is what I'd like to see.  I don't think it's unrealistic.  We could add a future first if necessary.

Dalembert is equal to Perk, and is better than Sheed...  ::)

I sense skepticism.  Let's compare:

Samuel Dalembert:

6'11'' 250 lbs Age: 28

PPG: 7.5 (09-10) 8 (Career)
RPG: 9.8 (09-10) 8.3 (Career)
BPG: 2.2 (09-10) 2 (Career)
SPG: .6 (09-10) .5 (Career)
FG%: .519 (09-10) .523 (Career)
FT%: .838 (09-10) .697 (Career)
MPG: 26.1 (09-10) 26.4 (Career)

Kendrick Perkins:

6'10'' 270 lbs Age: 25

PPG: 11.6 (09-10) 6.3 (Career)
RPG: 8.2 (09-10) 6 (Career)
BPG: 2 (09-10) 1.5 (Career)
SPG: .3 (09-10) .3 (Career)
FG%: .620 (09-10) .564 (Career)
FT%: .588 (09-10) .608 (Career)
MPG: 28.8 (09-10) 21.9 (Career)

Okay, I've bolded the areas where one is better than the other.  The stats aren't particularly surprising.  Sammy D and Perk are fairly similar players.

Physically, there's only an inch difference between them, and I think in terms of how they play it's negligible.  Perk is a bit heavier than Dalembert (mainly muscle), which is fairly significant.  Dalembert, however, is definitely a better rebounder.  Perk is a better offensive player, scoring more points (mainly in the last couple of seasons) and posting a higher FG % (though I think Sammy D has a bit more range).  Dalembert is a better blocker, though it's pretty close.  He's also a better free throw shooter, and plays fewer minutes per game to put up his numbers.

I won't bother comparing either of them to Sheed because, frankly, they're both very different from Sheed and a lot younger.  I think it's safe to say they're both more valuable than Sheed at this point.

In any case, other than intangibles on defense that don't show up in stats (like Perk being able to bother Dwight Howard more on the block), I'd say Perk and Dalembert are pretty even.  Dalembert is actually significantly better in a few categories.

Overall, I think he's definitely a downgrade (especially since his contract is a lot bigger and he's a few years older), but I think if we're getting Iguodala in return for Ray in a trade, the excess of talent coming our way in that swap more than makes up for it.

I feel like this is a no brainer. This makes us younger, quicker, much more athletic, better defensively, and deeper; all areas which we desperatley need to address... I wouldnt do Perk for Dalembert thats just crazy.

This is the best deal for us on the market however...

Ray, Scal, (and I even throw in...) Davis for Iggy and Dalembert.

Iggy has a lenghty contract but for 12-13 million a year I think he is quite a bargain based on his play. He fits the system perfectly and provide some great defense, speed, driving ability, and a rest for Pierce.

Dalembert has a rough contract but after this year he only has one year left and that could be valuable once again during next years deadline. He would be an incredible back up center for us. He can be the energy guy for the defensive end off the second unit and can really help our need to rebound the ball better. Stats wise hes a great player and would add much needed depth, a huge upgrade over big baby.

Rondo/House
Pierce/Allen
AI/Daniels/Walker
Garnett/Sheed/Williams
Perk/Dalembert

If Dalembert didnt work, I would even take a chance with Brand despite his awful contract. But regardless, this above lineup is something that will allow us to contend now and save us for the post big 3 future. A line up consisting of Rondo, Perk, and Iggy for the next few years is greatly intriguing.

This is the best trade in my opinion. We get athletic and big. Dalembert is much needed on this team. At this stage Iggy is better than Ray. Its a win.

Yeah.  The question is: will Philly do it?

I've seen reports with Dalembert having a 3%, a 7.5% and other reports claiming he has a 15% trade kicker. I'd love to know which one is the accurate number.
