And it keeps getting worse --- possibly the worst defense ever played by the Celtics so far tonight.  Trailing possibly the worst team in NBA HISTORY by allowing them to shoot almost 80% for the 2nd quarter.

Give the Nets credit though they are taking advantage of the chance they are being given.  They are playing with fire and really sense they can beat this Celtic team.  This is the same team that the Celtics blew away with little effort a couple weeks ago.

Celtics trailing by 7 at halftime at HOME and AFTER a day off.  They have allowed a combined 70% shooting to the Heat and awful Nets in the first half for the last two games.

But the C's are a great defensive team now that KG is back right???

A trade needs to happen. We need to get athletic quick. They look old and slow and they had a day off before this.

Is my browser broken? I keep seeing the same posts from the same people.  ;)

hard to make chicken salad out of you know what....

yeah it's a bit tough to shed any positive light on this performance sorry I know you don't like the negativity.  But giving up 70% shooting to possibly the worst team in NBA history is tough to be positive about.

Just a bit of a turnaround --- last game in NJ the C's were up 36 at halftime.  Tonight at home the Celtics trail by 4.  Only a 40 point difference no big deal.

Looking at the cause of why this is happening: we missed 3 layups in the first quarter...this lead to fast breaking by the Nets. And it's not a secret in this league that when you hit early buckets and think you can hang with a team that the basket starts to look bigger.

And it didn't help things when we had a slow footed 6'9" guy covering a guy that has played pg this year in Terrance Williams. Also, our offense is feeding the ball to the wrong guys. Garnett and Rondo's shots are looking great tonight and they aren't taking enough shots.

is this the worst defensive half of the season for the celtics seeing they are letting the nets score at will?

Well, a 4 point lead is nothing but it looks like a big differential when you're down by 4... to the NETS!

I hope Doc kicks the C's butts at halftime and that they show some pride in the 3rd by attacking the paint and getting a big lead. So far the team has shown no pride and doesn't seem bothered by getting beaten by the Nets... embarrassing.

The Garden is definitely not a place where your opponents are scared, it seems.

Wake up C's and make up for this terrible first half in the next one or this could be a really, really embarrassing loss.

Oh wow...I come home from work and see the Celtics are losing to the *NETS* at halftime? **** happened?

The Celtics have allowed the Nets to shoot almost 65% for the first half.  They have let possibly the worst team in NBA history come to Boston and take a halftime lead.  One of the worst halves in recent Celtic history without question.

The good news is there is plenty of time for the C's to wake up and take control of this game.

The bad news is that the Celtics can't even find the energy and will to dominate the Nets at home anymore...

Yeah, good teams would never fail to dominate the Nets, especially for a half.

For instance, the last Nets/Cavs game, when the Cavs held a one point halftime lead.  Or the recent game versus the Spurs, when SA was up by two at halftime at home.
