Guess he's just their GM now.

Assistant Coach Kim Hughes taking over.  I thought it was a girl at first, which would have been pretty cool.  Turns out it's just a guy with a girl's name.  Oh well.

I'm anxiously awaiting a public panic attack from Bill Simmons.

If people hadn't realized yet, that would certainly solidify them as the worst run franchise in professional sports.

Quote

NBA Hall of Famer and current men’s basketball coach at Florida International University Isiah Thomas has emerged as one of the candidates to run the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to a source close to the situation, the Clippers have reached out to Thomas -- who coached the Indiana Pacers and also the New York Knicks -- to take over coaching, general manager and president duties.

He would replace Mike Dunleavy, who was relieved of his coaching duties earlier this week but remains the general manager.

Thomas, 49, was hired this past April as the head coach at Florida International down in Miami.

It's a perfect match!

  • You know my methods, Watson.
the only way this happens is if someone in the clippers hierarchy wakes up in the morning and asks his spouse, "honey, how can we make this franchise suck even worse than it already does?"

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
And the Clippers will continue to be the Clippers...

So... will they trade Griffin for some value or lose him to free-agency like all the others.

HAHAHAHAHA...why?  I ask..why?  Would this attract more fans?  Is this financially motivated?  There's no way a team would think Isiah Thomas would be good in terms of helping a team play good basketball....

Why trade Zack Randolph if you want to get Thomas?

Bizarre. Why president?

I think Isiah did a respectable job drafting with the Knicks, but was a disaster in terms of trades and representing the organization.

I am not taking this rumor seriously.

In fairness to Isiah he was good at drafting high lottery picks with toronto

1995 -  Damon Stoudamire
1996 - Marcus Camby
1997 - Tracy McGrady
1998 - Vince Carter

That team could have had a bright future if they kept them together. Isiah as a choach is awful though.

Mike Dunleavy is finally out as coach of the Clippers. He reportedly felt "burned out". He will stay with the Clippers organization as the general manager, but no longer coaches the team in any capacity. Supposedly, though, he will have trouble letting go of the "coaching mindset".... that sounds great for the organizations future. I don't see him meddling excessively as a GM and wreaking havoc on the team at all.
