We should not trade Ray Allen to Chicago.

Obviously there have been many reports, rumors, posts, scenario's, etc. about trading Ray to Chicago for Kirk Heinrich and Tyrus Thomas.

I am against it not only because I believe it could have a negative affect on the teams chemistry, or the fact that I dont believe it extends our championship window, but for the simple fact that we would be trading a major player to an Eastern Conference Playoff team.

We could very easily face the Bulls once again in the post-season.
Of course we all know, about the 7 game series, and all of the overtime, that went on last year, and how the Bulls got the best of us at times, and how we got the best of them as well.
Now I know, that we didn't have KG during that series, and clearly he makes a difference.
And the Bulls at the time had Ben Gordon, and were without Luol Deng. so there are a number of factors and variables that have influence.

However, there's is still a great chance we face the Bulls again in the playoffs this year.

Say this trade goes down, The Bulls now have (main pieces):
Derrick Rose and a Ray Allen backcourt, Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah (playing at an All-Star Level) as a front line
---Brad Miller, Salmons,Devin Brown (recent aquisition),Johnson, Pargo and others off the bench

Boston: Rondo, Hienrich, Pierce, Garnett, Perkins
--Sheed, Quis, Tyrus Thomas, TA, House, Baby,Scal

Now on paper, clearly Bos. wins that battle, but as we all know games aren't won on paper.

So now you have to take into account, how each player, individually for each team has played for this season 09-10 only, not how their career has been or what they did last year, but how they have been during the 09-10 season.
--With that said, taking into account how each player has played so far THIS SEASON, I'm not so sure, or I cant say for 100% that the C's wouldn't not be at risk of getting bit in the butt, down the road, near playoff territory by making this deal.

The main point I'm trying to make, is that I do not think it is very smart to make trades, involving starting lineup type of players, to teams who are in the same conference and are playoff contenders.

The teams we should be trading partners with are the bottom of the barrel type of teams in the East. and the Western Conference teams.....not with other Eastern Conference playoff teams.

We should be talking to teams like, New Jersey, Wash., Philly, Detroit, etc.and the Western Conference Teams.
