At least according Eddie House:

From Weei

(Q) I’m hoping you could give us some news – that you’re going to take part in the three-point contest?

(A) No, I haven’t got an invite. I think Paul’s actually going to be the one representing the Celtics in the contest, so I hope all’s well with that and I hope he gets a win.

Hmmm...

I could see Pierce winning this. Effortless delivery and ultra competitve. I like him as a darkhorse.

  • Rondo = Good
Paul doesn't shoot the 3 that quickly, though.  I have a feeling he wouldn't be as good trying to fire off 30 shots in a minute.

Yeah, Pierce is having a great year from 3, but his release is probably a little too slow to excel at the contest.  It'll be great to watch him regardless though.

If this is true, his best chance at winning is to take his time and focus on making the ones he takes, versus heaving up quick shots to get to the end before the time expires.

I hope Pierce kills it like Bird did!

Good news, I will be very interested to see how Paul performs in this contest!

I would have loved to see Eddie in there too but since he didn't make it last year when was breaking a club record, he had no chances of being in the contest this season... the NBA should have selected him last year for his season and this year in consideration of his shooting career.

I mean, it would be really fun to see Eddie in the Contest, too bad it won't happen. :-\

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I think House would've been the more appropriate choice, but Pierce is a star.

Hope he does better than the last time he was there.

They should also have Sheed in the horse contest if they do that again. But here is to Pierce doing well! Hope he wins it!

Pierce was in it before, and bombed miserably. He does shoot way too slow to finish all the shots and so he has to rush them. This causes him to become a much worse 3 point shooter than he actually is. Not the contest for him. He hits important 3's, not ones in shooting contests. Eddie would have been a much better pick. He'd either win the whole thing or flame out.

Paul does well when he has to. Remember when he threw the pitch to Veritek after the C's won the championship? It wasn't a clutch situation and Pierce threw it so high Veritek couldn't even catch it. Paul could win anything if he had to, but he doesn't have to win a 3-point shooting contest. Ho Hum....so ho hum in humboldt county california without my celtics. No TV, nothing but green beauty and tall redwoods, but no celtic green except when I can get to civilization and a computer. I miss the Truth! I miss the Celtics! You'll win it all this year. I have foreseen it. I'm sending the Captain and the Truth reiki from Blue Lake. Love, love, love....

Eddie has the perfect release for the 3 point contest. He's so quick on the trigger, he'd probably be able to jack up 45 shots in the time allotted.

I'd rather see Pierce and KG not do anything this weekend and just rest.  They're having injury issues.  The prestige is getting invited, they have nothing to prove by playing.  The NBA All-star game is probably just slightly above the pro bowl as being the worst one.  No one watches and no one really cares to be honest.  Let them sit and watch all weekend.

Really? The NBA all star game is clearly the best all star game. Baseball is a boring joke, the Pro Bowl no one watches, and hockey doesn't know if they want it by country of origin, conference, or skipped for the Olympics.

I think you are on your own rating the NBA all star game that lowly.
