I agree that it ought to be just one pick.

As long as we are a playoff team, I'm not very worried about draft picks.

Cheap talent from the draft is important for this teams now and later. An asset is an asset right?

I would not do the deal, period.  I would do Martin, Bell and Randolph for Ray.  If Bell is out for the year, he can be waived to save the roster spot.  I want no part of Nocioni or Udrih. Petrie made his bed with those two, let him sleep in it.
Now if Petrie wanted to give an unprotected first rounder too, I might reconsider on Beno.

I would not give up any picks, not even a second rounder.

Explain to me how we do this three team deal with Golden State and Sacramento?

A core of Rajon Rondo + Kevin Martin + Kendrick Perkins is comfortably a .500 team with a decent supporting cast.

Add to that either a slowed down Pierce/KG (2011/12) or acquisitions via cap space (2012/13) and the team should be winning 46+ games at the very least. Only way either of those years turns into a lottery pick (post K.Martin trade) is if the team is decimated by injuries.

LOL, Kevin Martin, Monta Ellis, what's the difference (I'd rather have Ellis).
Well let's see.  In a deal with Sacramento I would trade Ray for Kevin Martin, Kenny Thomas (expiring), Sergio Rodriguez and a first round pick.

One is great/elite and the other has a horrible shooting stroke and they are about as comparable as Ray Allen of 2000 to Ray Allen of 2010.
Little Fockers 1.5/10
Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10

This is the only trade I would do with the Kings involving Ray
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfqgxk3
Ray,Giddens,House and Baby for Martin,Thompson,Udoka,Udrih and Noc
No picks unless we're getting some from them b/c we're taking on half of their non expiring contracts...

Great for us b/c we get a young vet in Kmart to be a better offensive threat. He can learn team D just as Ray did.
We get Jason Thompson to learn alongside Perk,Sheed n KG and be his predecessor.
Udrih becomes our permanent Rondo backup so Quis and Tony can play the 2/3 guards.
Nocioni would  become our Posey - hard nose dirty D on the opposing best player plus hit open 3s.
Udoka is a mere backup SF for us to use when one his hurt(like Pierce is now) and since Walker can't get minutes when we were short 5 players.

The Kings make a HUGE salary dump(around 20 mil + Kenny Thompson expires this summer - 28 mil) enough to sign 1 big free agent to play alongside Hawes and Evans.
Can't stop, Rondo!

I guess people like to lump the cruddy Bay Area teams together...

I'd do Ray + 1st for Martin, Thomas (expiring).  Id do Ray for Martin, Nocioni.

Just say no to Nocioni.  We want Raja Bell (expiring) and Anthony Randolph instead.
had to log in just to give the old brick a tp for this one.
i like nocioni and martin but our future depends on finding KG a suitable avatar to inhabit. imo that is anthony randolph.

we can get KG's replacement after sheed and KG'S contracts end because we will have a ton of cap space. I think Big Al is a free agent that year.

there is much KG can teach on a young'n. the sooner we get the kid in here the more time KG will have to school him in the ways of beastliness.

Lets settle this once and for all
