Do you mean to tell me that...

1. We have been killed with injuries this year?

2. That we have not once played together as a team with a steady 8 man roation that includes all our key rotation guys?

3. That we played five games with Pierce, KG, Marquis and tow of those games we also were without Rondo?

4. That we played the first few months of the season without Baby and TA?

5. That we've played more games on the raod than at home?

6. That we've not been able to create any team chemistry on the court becasue of all the injuries?

7. That we have missed KG, who is "our Kobe", "our LeBron", "Our DHoward", for 10+ games?

...and we are still only 4-5 games back of the best record in the league and have the 3rd best as it stands?

And that had WE NOT given away the Orlando and Laker games we'd only be a bout 2-3 games behind both the Lakers and Cavs for best record in the league?

Is that what you're telling me?

I think maybe we ought to wait until everyone gets healthy and plays together for at least 2-3 weeks before we declare the end of the big three and the Celtics chances of winning another title.

We've been like wounded bear the entire season, stunbling around on 2 1/2 legs with everyone giving us their absolute best, physical shot every night and we are within earshot of best record once we put together a nice run and win our next head to head match ups with the Cavs, Magic and Lakers.

With Tony playing solid and Marquis coming back, Ray will get more rest and will start knocking down shots much better, everyone will start getting a groove.

I think it's a mistake for other teams, and us, to underestimate the Celtics as they round into health.

Big mistake.

Good post, but not so excited about the fact that we have more home games than road games the rest of the way, given the terrible home record so far.

My pessimism stems from the fact that they are extremely unlikely to "round into health".  This is just going to continue, since they aren't getting any younger.

Yeah, odd but true re their play at home and I hear you re if they can actually ever round into shape.

But I think their struggles are mostly due to not being able to be a cohesive unit that can get some continuity momentum going by having all their key 7-8 rotations guys healthy at once.

I'm hoping that by now having Baby and TA and shortly Marquis...we can give our big three more rest where needed and have a better shot at keeping them healthy.

I'm goign to stay optimistic on that and just hope for the best.

I'd really like to see us get at least just one more title out of this group and I'd be happy.

I think if we can get healthy and Ainge makes a even a small but solid addition through trade or free agent signing...we will be all set to take it this year.

keep the faith!

Agree with the sentiment, but not feeling too optimistic that everyone will be healthy come playoff time.
But if KG, PP, Rondo, and Perk are all healthy, anything is possible. And it wouldn't hurt if Ray(if he's still here),Eddie, and Sheed could start making some shots.

  • Rondo = Good
You make some good points.  Like others, I'll believe in the "all healthy for the playoffs" when we're heading into the playoffs with a full roster.  Until then, I'll be skeptical about this team's ability to stay totally healthy.

Thanks Jsaad. I could stick my head in the sand or stay optimistic. To me it's an easy decision. I get to miserable otherwise...must-stay-positive.

This thread was so on point I registered an account to give it credit.

Seriously. This all needed to be said. The panic and negativity is so overblown.

The idea of trading Ray Allen is so weak. He's playing absurd minutes, which is precisely why his performance has dropped like it has.

http://www.nba.com/statistics/plusminus/plusminus_sort.jsp?pcomb=1&season=22009&split=9&team=Celtics

He's been a plus-minus machine for the Celtics for three years. He spaces the floor and hustles 100% of the time

Unless we get a super-deal including someone like Monta Ellis or Andre Iguodala, trading Ray Allen is not the answer.

Patience, Celtics fans!
