The point isn't having enough cap space.  The point is that even if they had the cap space to sign two LeBron Jameses, Pierce could only be signed for the veterans' minimum after being renounced.

In typical ESPN fashion, i notice paul and ray's comments, which were nearly identical, didn't. But then again, it's easier for espn to try to make a mountain out of a mole hill with a younger guy.

well in fairness to Wyc he was talking about it this past offs-season before we signed Sheed and BBD and gave a contract extention to Rondo. So it was actually possible back then .
