China Debut...
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64435/20100202/marbury_makes_first_appearance_in_china/

Let's revisit something here...

Marbury was on this team playing the 2 guard spot, because we wanted Eddie House to play the 1 guard spot, so that Marbury could run the offense from the 2 guardg spot to get Eddie shots ??? Marbury's downfall on this team was not that he couldn't play because of conditioning but because he had to feed a undersized guy that played his position for significant minutes. Eddie House is no significant player, he's a specialist and that's it. Being on the court with Marbury really hurt Marbury's game having to defend the bigger shooting guards and also run specific plays Eddie as he runs off screens. Now the C's are on the hunt for a combo guard "Stephon Marbury" which we could've resigned @ his talent for a good price instead of giving the money to "Sheed for brick", and/or Marquis Daniels.

Is anyone not seeing what i'm seeing ??? The same thing is happening right now. What makes it even worse is that whether be TA, Rondo, Ray, or Paul that finds Eddie open he still doesn't knock down shots. I'm mad we should've kept Marbury and Booted Eddie out of here. This Eddie House failed experiment is long over-due. During the championship season it worked out because teams weren't familiar with the C's style of play, the C's also had more options on the offensive end, and last Eddie made open shots.

I'm sorry but he's not that important as I stated in another thread. Is he that important that we had to sign Marbury a 1, force him to play 2 just to help Eddie House?, is he that important that we had to make trade proposals and wait forever on Marquis Daniels to come aboard only to help Eddie House get shots? is he that important that we didn't keep a legit scorer in Lester Hudson because he can't seem to execute plays for a Eddie House? Scalabrine, Eddie and J.R. get ready to be packaged on the Trading Block Right Now!!! lol  :-*

Seriously? His performance in China is supposed to be evidence of something?

Top scorer in that game was Tre Kelley.

This Tre Kelley:

so his team getting beat and him being outplayed by a guy who was undrafted and never played a single minute in the nba is somehow evidence that he is the missing piece to this team?

He actually didn't play that well. Marbury said he was feeling tired.

The OP must be confused.

With the Celtics, Marbury played as the PG, passing the ball, among others, to an outside shooter having a career year in terms of efficiency: 44.4% from beyond the line. That's very gratifying for a PG.

On the defensive end, he was allowed to defend 2-guards - that was always his best defensive position, but even more when he become older and slower.

So, overall, a great position to be. Unfortunately, there was no basketball left in Marbury - as his complete inability to score with a modicum of efficiency abundantly showed.

I'm sorry, but I'm calling Rtpas11 out.  He's just messing with us.  He has one thread where he is saying we made a dire mistake cutting that scrub Luster Hedson (or whatever the heck his name is)... and now he has a thread saying we should have kept Marbury.

Very funny.   You had me going for a second with the thread about Lesley Hutson, but you blew your cover with this nonsense.

I'll play along, though... BRING BACK PITTSNOOGLE!!  BRING BACK BRANDON WALLACE!!!!  LETTING GO OF ESTEBAN BATISTA WAS OUR DOWNFALL!!!!

  • You know my methods, Watson.
i once scored 120 points against the kids at church in the daycare center...sometimes that 4-foot hoop would get shakin' because the kids would bump into it, so that added to the difficulty level.  i retired after that game, realizing it was best to walk away as those kids would turn 5 the next year and i might not be able to replicate this feat...

All i'm saying is Lester Hudson and Stephon Marbuy >>>>> than Eddie House, based on what this team needs are. I observed this team trying to work around the play of Eddie House for 2 years now... Its Not Working!

I thought Bonzi Wells dropped like 50 in that game.

I watched a 2 minute video of some China highlights. Trust me...Stephon Marbury would blow just as hard last year.

His bricks looked just as bad as they did here. The Chinese players defend like orange traffic cones. It was pathetic.

Marbury has no future in the NBA.

This team needs a shooter just as much as they need someone to give said shooter wide open shots.

Marbury and Hudson don't justify this bill to me. It concerns me that a former PG in Doc didn't see it in Hudson to backup Rondo. I'm not going to put Hudson under the bus like I did Pruitt, cause it's clear Hudson can play. But as a PG? Didn't you remember those quotes where Doc called some of Hudson's turnovers with us "awful"?
