Perhaps that's why Danny Ainge sounded distressed during segmentI don't trust this source though. Can you play an additional 20 effective minutes on a broken foot?Having never done it myself, I would think not.Paul's tough but man...that would be pretty gnarly if he played the second half that well with a broken foot.Kevin McHale played an entire playoffs on a broken foot. It screwed up the rest of his career to some extent, but he did it.

Just saw the tweet myself. What else could he be referring to but the Pierce situation. If it is a broken foot, time to blow it up now.
Here's hoping this is nothing more than internet rumors. Of course, if something is seriously wrong with PP, I would slap Sheldon over the head for being so coy about it.
Here's to it having nothing to do with the Celtics. [/optimist]

I don't see how it could be anything else but Pierce-related. And, Ainge did sound like he was having a panic attack when he was on the phone with Felger and Maz.

If he will be out for 6 weeks, then I think they could still be OK, if he is out for the season, then they should be shopping Allen REALLY hard.
Perhaps this qualifies as paranoid speculation, but on a day when Celtics forward Paul Pierce underwent X-rays on the foot he injured in last night's victory over the Wizards, it is at least curious that his teammate, backup forward Shelden Williams, would cryptically tweet the following at 3:20 this afternoon:@SheldenWilliams: Man when it rains it pours!!! Yall will find out what I mean soon!!!!The Celtics have not yet released the results of Pierce's X-rays. Stay tuned.
