Quote
According to a poll of league sources, the Sixers and Knicks are the teams that are most active in trade discussions so far.

The Sixers are looking to unload big contracts like Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert. The Kings have some interest in Dalembert.

The Knicks may seek to shed additional salary ahead of their expected summer free-agent shopping spree.

Philadelphia gets a good replacement at SG for the remainder of the year, and they save major money after this season, which is apparently their current goal. The Kings get their big man that they apparently want.

And of course, I don't really need to explain why the Celtics do this deal.

Yeah, I know "we're in the same division/the sixers won't do that". However, everyone gets their needs met in this proposed deal.

I honestly don't see a huge deal going down like this involving the Celtics. I said before in another forum that I think what we will/should do is rework our bench in a minor trade or two

It's definitely a big trade...however, isn't everyone getting what they want in this deal? Sixers get a ton of financial flexibility, Kings get Dalembert, and the C's get Iggy.

This isn't really a 3 teams trade, why present it like this?

Can't we get a different salary filler than Kapono?

What I find really funny is there is one thread claiming that Sacramento is so desperate to save money, they are going to give up Martin and Garcia for an expiring contract, and now this one has them giving up an expiring contract, in order to take on Dalembert's deal.

I think this just shows how little we all know about what is going on.  We hear these rumors, but nothing is substantiated.  Most of them are speculation, or whispers heard by "insiders" that were really (at best) just GM's throwing ideas against the wall, and getting shot down, or (at worst) stories planted by GM's, agents, or just the "journalist" themselves, in order to create a buzz.

It makes it that much more fun to speculate  :) I love this time of year
