I've changed perspectives now... it's not really the Celt's job to necessarily win another championship but it's critical that the Lakers are stopped from repeating as champs.

With that in mind, I believe the Celts are the only team qualified to stop the Lakers.

The WCFs looks like a shoe-in for the Lakers so it's really up to us to beat Atlanta, Orlando, and Cleveland since I doubt that they have what it takes to beat LA.

Have you seen how poorly they match up against Cleveland? I would love to be the ones to stop the Flakers from repeating, but unless a major move is made before the trade deadline or players on other teams get injured, I think Cleveland's got the championship swagger that we had two years ago.

Are you kidding? You think the Cavs match up well against Lakers?

Lakers have WAY too much size and length. The only advantage the Cavs have is the refs. Regular season wins can be very deceiving. But they won't call bogus games for the Cavs in the playoffs. At least not as much.

I can understand "regular season wins can be deceiving" part, but all that so called size and length you speak about was taken care of by the Cavs on Christmas Day, considering the Cavs had 46 points in the paint to the Lakers' 38. The 2nd game I didn't see a lot of, but the Cavs didn't even have Mo Williams. Also, the Cavs had 42 points in the paint to the Lakers' 26, giving us an average of 44 points in the paint in 2 games for the Cavs.

And what is this talk about the Cavs having the advantage because of the refs when they had more fouls than the Lakers in both games? You can argue that the Cavs had 4 more FTs combined, but I already told you the Cavs had more points in the paint in both games.

The Lakers aren't invincible, though they are consistently the best team out west.

Still, I think it's possible that the Nuggets or Mavericks could get hot at the right time and beat them in the playoffs, especially if the Mavericks manage to trade Josh Howard for an upgrade at SG.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Yea I know, but looking at stats doesn't tell you much. The way I saw both those games is Pau and Bynum picking up pretty weak fouls and being in foul trouble most of the game meanwhile the Cavs front court was not even close to foul trouble. This causes two things: 1) Laker front court must play very weak defense of they foul out, and 2) Cavs front court can afford to be way more aggressive on defense and offense. Just remember, it's not the fouls they call, it's the fouls they don't call. It also matters who they call the fouls on and when not just the stats at the end of the game because they always tend to balance out by then.

Basically you see the Cavs are being heavily promoted by the league. In fact I remember when the Lakers were being heavily promoted back when they had Shaq. They got away with a lot of crap and got the calls against good teams because they wanted to promote Kobe since he was to be the future of the NBA. Well, now the Cavs are in that same position getting away with things other teams can't.
