How about Iggy, I'm sure Ray Allen is 10 times more appealing than an old & broken McGrady.
would love it , but no way Philly trades him within the division. How about Kevin Martin ? He doesn't seem to be able to play with Tyreke Evans and there were rumors he might be on the block.

I think both of these names are not realistic.  I think anyone who gets Iggy, will also need to take Brand (no thanks), and if Martin is traded, it will be for value, not expiring contracts.

I could see Ray fitting in beautifully on the Spurs.  I wonder what they would give up.  It would probably have to be Ginobilli(expiring) and a couple nice young guys. Or Jefferson and others.

I have been saying that I didn't think Danny would resign Ray unless it was for one year only

I'm only interested in Kevin Martin and Monta Ellis. If we get a package of Hinrich and one of Miller and Thomas, I'll be a little heartbroken. Iguodala wouldn't be so bad, but I'd much rather get Ellis or Martin, if possible.

Hinrich would fit the description of a cheaper priced younger SG and Ty Thomas(although we would likely resign him) and Jones are expiring contracts...... Maybe Chris Sheridan is onto something?

Unfortunately, I think you are going to be heartbroken then.  I just don't see those type of players coming to Boston, given what the C's have to give up.

Perkins might make sense as our young player to draw some attention in, even though it will be very tough to stack contracts up to come close to that and at the same time keep us in a spot of contention.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Seems Danny has been seeing the same things I have in regards to Ray. Still, I don't want to trade Ray unless it's for a young borderline all-star (Martin/Iguodala). At the age of 30 a guy like Caron Butler isn't exactly a bridge to the future and a package of role players doesn't improve this team enough right now. If we aren't going to get a 1st rounder, Significant prospect, or borderline all-star just keep Ray.

As far as the Kings trade idea goes, isn't it common knowledge that they are more concerned about saving money than they are about getting competitive at this point? If we give them Ray's expiring contract for Kevin Martin, and take back Nocioni's oversized contract as well, I think there's a chance this could actually get done. They save major money and put themselves in prime position to rebuild with young cheap contracts (see Sonics/Thunder, Grizzlies). We stay competitive, while securing the backcourt for our future and strengthening a glaring weakness on our bench...Pierce's backup.

Here's Sactown's financial info, I believe it's accurate. This trade would save them an extra $17 mil after this season.

Monta Ellis is way too short, and would hurt this team defensively.  Rondo and Ellis has our starting back court would be a nightmare. I think that's reason enough to not TRADE for him, period.

I'd much rather have Kevin Martin, who's supposedly even taller than Ray Allen. On top of that, compared to Ellis, Martin's a much better shooter.

Doesn't really matter who you would rather have because neither the Warriors nor the Kings would trade those players for Ray.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If Ainge does this, I hope he doesn't do things halfway.

That is, I hope he either gets someone young, a "bridge to the future," or an borderline all star type. While this may be obvious, most of the trade suggestions that have come out this weekend do neither. Trading Allen for a 30 year old player who is not as good as Allen neither helps the future nor does it help us now.

This isn't the exact Bulls trade i was thinking. But the basic Hinrich and Thomas for Ray is the direction i'd go in.
