On the theme of Ray Allen trades, here is one that has the potential to really add some depth to this C's team, while also giving the team a suitable replacement for Ray for next season, without killing the team with longterm salaries.

Boston trades: Ray Allen and JR Giddens
Boston recieves: Jason Richardson and Al Harrington

NY trades: Al Harrington, Jarred Jeffries, and Nate Robinson
NY recieves: Ray Allen, JR Giddens

Phoenix trades: Jason Richardson
Phoenix recieves: Jarred Jeffries, Nate Robinson (and possibly a draft pick if needed)

Why for Phoenix?  They save about $7.5 million next season, get a player who could play in their system (Jeffries), and get a two month look at Robinson.  This gives them some extra cap room to pursue someone (or a couple players) if Amare walks, and also saves them about $3 million this season and gets them closer to the luxury tax line.

Why for NY?  It gets Jeffries off the books next season, giving them an extra $7 million under the cap to pursue stars.  And they don't give up any core pieces in the process.

Why for Boston?  They get a younger replacement for Ray who can shoot, and score in bunches, and would be able to slide right in without missing much of a beat.  He is also signed for next year for less money than Ray is making this year.  And they also get a long, athletic 3/4 who can score, and has shown in the past that he has the potential to be a good defender.  He could be very valuable against perimeter 4's like Lewis, and Smith, who have given the C's fits.  A finishing lineup of Rondo, Richardson, Pierce, Harrington, and KG could be killer down the stretch.  Oh yeah, and Harrington comes off the books after this season.

I am usually against ever even considering trading Ray but I think this really makes a lot of sense for all teams and it would really help the C's.
2025 Fantasy Draft Philadelphia 76ers:
PG: Rajon Rondo '11-'12;  WestBrook; Wall
SG: James Harden '18-'19 Marcus Smart
SF: Andrei Kirilenko '05-'06; Peja Stojakovic
PF: Anthony Davis '17-'18;   Kevin Love, Griffin
C: Amare Stoudemire '04-'05;   Marcus Camby

Not bad.  Seems reasonable for all involved, all things considered.

If possible I'd like to get a backup pg back in any trade involving Ray Ray.

While I agree, I don't think they are interested in paying a ton of money to a backup PG beyond this year, so they would need to either get a guy making smaller money, or one that is expiring, and there are not too many guys like that.  While guys like Barbosa and Hinrich could help this team, I think their future salaries make Danny (or Wyc) say no to them.

However, in this deal, the C's still retain House/Allen/Scal, so they can use those expiring contracts to try to make a second trade, perhaps for a guy like Ridnour or Blake.  Otherwise, they can hope someone gets bought out.

Like it a lot we get a decent Ray replacement who will help on the boards and a solid backup to Paul. How about someone throws in Nate or Dragicic in exchange for anyone on our bench except for Sheed (maybe Marquis but he hasn't done anything). Go Danny Go!

Yeah, really we just need somebody like Atkins or Boykins or Watson - somebody who can run an offense and not make a lot of mistakes (turnovers).  They only need to do it for 10-15 minutes a night, too.  We could probably get somebody like that trading House / Scal after doing a bigger trade like this.
