The thing I disliked the most about the loss was the part about not winning.
The worst thing?  Probably the reaction from many Celtics fans, who have given up on this team in late January.

Totally agree with these two post...  Losing sucks and especially against the Lakers and also it disgust me to see Celtics fans giving up on this team when we still have a shot at winning the ship, and people saying you're not realistic if you still believe we can win it.

Roy is wrong. People aren't giving up on this team. They are making very reasonable predictions about this team's ability, or lack thereof, to be a true contender for the championship. The fact that you disagree with those predictions doesn't mean they are wrong, or annoying for that matter. The worst part of this loss, from my perspective, was the team's tight play down the stretch. They looked like a young team that hadn't been here before...when in fact they have a veteran team, have won a title, and were playing at home.

Sorry drkalloch it is very wrong when you are writing this team off, when it is only January and they are going through a awful strech and still almost beat the best team in the NBA right now.

I'm starting to think you guys can't read. I am not "writing them off." I, along with many others, are saying that we do not believe that this team is in a position to win 16 games in the postseason. They are the 6th best team in the league (or thereabouts), which means they have a chance to win, yes, but are a clear step down from the upper echelon. Can that change in 10 weeks, sure, and obviously I hope it does, but we can't assume it will.

If people can assume that this team is going to continue to play bad and lose then why can't people assume that they will get out of this lull and bad strech and start to play better basketball, and championship basketball.

You can! That's fine! Just don't complain about people who disagree with you!

Well it gets very depressing and annoying seeing people give up on their team and say tons of things awful about them, when most are not true.  I don't mind the critics of the team that are realistic but it is the ones who are completely abondoning ship and not having realistic reasons that bothers me, but you are right it is their opinion and they have a right to it.

It just gets really annoying and depressing seeing fans of the team I love, and I'm sure some of them love the C's too, giving up hope and abondoning them when the team still has a shot to do great things and win the championship.

The fact that we led by 11 in the 4th and fakers won the game.

Our last shot choice was very bad too. I really don't understand why we needed to shoot a 3 when we were only down by 1.

I don't understand why they shot a three on the last possesion either, even if Ray was open, when I feel that Paul had an open shot and the Lakers didn't have a foul to give so I really don't understand why the play wasn't to attack the basket.

I really hated that part of the game too.

I just wanted to state a positive thing about the Fakers. I think Ron Artest at this stage in his career is a down grade from Trevor Ariza.

1. I hate them, but the team's name is the Lakers
2. I hate the fact that the last 16 games the Celtics have had a double digit lead, they have lost EIGHT of those games.
3. I hate the fact that this was another fourth quarter collapse, and that once again in the second half the team could not score.
4. And finally, the worst thing about today's loss to the Lakers is that it confirmed my belief that the Lakers will win their back-to-back championship this year.

Maybe. But he's certainly a worse fit in this Lakers team. There's too much size/slowness/post play/inconsistent jump-shooting and dribble penetration in this team. They miss Ariza's quickness/cuts/ability to make open set jump-shots a lot more.

I guess you are agreeing with me.

I wasn't sure. I'm not sure that Ariza is a better player than Artest in a vacuum; if you meant that Artest is a downgrade from Ariza specifically for this Lakers team, I agree, if you meant more generally, I don't agree so much.

To answer the question in the subject line: the fact that it was Kobe that hit the game winner. Any other guy on the team is better. When it is Kobe, I just get salty.

Agreed.

Seeing him hit it was as bad (to me, at least) as that dagger that Magic hit on us back in 85 I believe.

Magic hit that darn running hook right over Both Parish and Mchale to win that game.
