we need more than just daniels...we need several pieces off the bench

How about a healthy KG, and an effective BBD?
Or a Sheed posting up more. Or a Rondo being aggressive one more quarter. Or or or... - so many things that can cause those two extra points. We'll be alright.

When we get our stuff together, we'll walk over them like we did in game 6 of *the* finals.

There it is.

Unless the Hawks knock the C's out of the playoffs.

Will not happen if the Celtics "got their stuff together".

The C's just don't match up with the Hawks whether they get their stuff together or not.

Tough series if it happens.

Of course they do

Hawks have no answer to KG and Wallace down low.

Btw, what do I need to do to lose the stamp on my forehead saying "(blind) optimist"? I'm getting sick and tired of it.

I'm saying that we'll be alright when we "get our stuff together". That doesn't mean I think all is well. In fact, it clearly states that we HAVE to get our stuff together, for us to start being alright. So I'm not denying there's something wrong darnit.

There. Had to get that off my chest :p

I'm with you.  Apparently, you can only be a "realist" or "observant" if you think the team is doomed, no matter what.

If, on the other hand, you take the long view, and say that you can't count any team out in January (especially after starting the year 20-5) you're a blind optimist.

Don't worry about it.

Know how many times I was called "negative" on here.

Now, I am overly "positive".

On the other hand (lol I'm going against my earlier statement here) maybe I should just be happy with the title.

Maybe it is! :)

You are darn well missing my point.

3 types of people exist:

1) Optimists

2) Realists

3) Pessimists

Now, the difference is in the positive/negative ratio.

And some people over here, are 01/99.

I consider myself a 60/40 one, and like I said, I pointed out something negative about our team in a positive way. That's different than pointing out a negative thing by saying "WE ARE DOOMED".

And he died later on.

Hmmm...

Bad example.

i dont think they are doomed...but i do think they have to get things figured out as soon as they can because right now...this isn't getting it

I'm not as much talking about you as I was about others. If I'd have to rate you to the scale I mentioned above, you're a 35/65 guy :p Could be worse ;)

I think you underestimate the Hawks. Look at their team:

Bibby and Crawford at the point are as good as Rondo and House. (Rondo is the best of the 4 however Bibby and Crawford are both better than House at the point)

Joe Johnson is as good as PP is. His stats prove it and he hits some very clutch shots as well.

Marvin Williams is not a whole lot worse than Ray is (I know these last two are mismatched, however Joe and PP are more similar in roles) Ray scores a few more points but Marvin plays a lot better defense and rebounds the ball.

Josh Smith is better at this time than KG is being unhealthy. He is also a very good defensive player and brings a lot of energy to the floor just like KG does. His stats are definitely better than KG's at this stage.

Al Horfords stats are better than Perks. Perk is a little better defender, however Al's offensive game is way ahead of Perks.

Their bench isn't that much worse than ours is either. Especially without Marquis.

Point being that the Hawks are a lot better team talent wise than we are giving them credit for and there is a reason they swept us. They are more athletic, hungrier, and about as talented a team as there is out there. Don't sell them short.

It's unfortunate that we lost.

But I think it is undeniable that we are playing much, much better basketball right now. Hopefully things continue to improve.
