I gotta tell you, if the Celtics somehow totally blew out the Lakers, that would really make me feel better and restore a good deal of my faith - even if that's totally stupid and irrational considering how they've been playing lately.

I'm really not expecting it, though.  I don't know how much of the game I'll let myself watch.  I can't take another disappointment.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I agree it won't be pretty. But I think every one here knows the Celtics have played very poorly this season save for maybe two games - The opener in Cleveland and the Christmas Day win in Orlando.

Whats troubling is the way they are losing games and that they lack the mental toughness required to win in this league.

They are dealing with a lot of problems right now and I blame everybody. Players, Coaching Staff, and Front Office.

I don't think the window is closed but if we fade to 44-38 and get knocked out in the 1st round, I promise you that Danny is gonna be shipping a lot of bodies out of town.
Wins are few, times are hard. Here is your bleeping St Patricks Day Card.

-all the bandwagon fans to hop off the wagon  ::)

-MORE the SKY IS FALLING threads *tons*

-Laker trolls everywhere from the forum to main blog

-and/or its all the refs fault we were jobbed

but I hope it isnt the case and we get back on track n shut LA down. game thread? really lookin forward to this game

Yup, same-old, same-old, J ... all the negatives get blown out of proportion if we lose to the Lakers, and it's always been that way. That said, these are the type of games when the Celtics play their best: Just when everyone expects them not to. Paul is looking especially good of late, and I have faith that he will do his job on Kobe, and hopefully Artest will refrain from pulling Pierce's shorts off again, (or any other of his endless stupid acts) ... although as I recall The Truth nailed a three-pointer in his face the last time he tried such. I really think KG's mobility and elevation will be key in this one, and that the biggest problems will be guys like Pau and Fish, and how effective Rage will be in attacking the basket. If we can run the fast-break consistently we should be able to pull out the win. Man, I would love to win this one, more than any this year ... despite the standings and troubles we've had to this point, a win against the Fakers on national TV would go a long way toward silencing the doubters.
