Crownsy...  I actually did witness the 80's and remember it vividly.  Trust us who were there - it was a slow, painful death to watch.  Red's greatest quality probably was his worst: loyalty.  His reluctance to trade either mchale or parish (and he had opportunities to do so) led to the death of this franchise.

I see it happening all over again...sorry if that makes me a bad person, but this is getting tough to watch.  People here have all kinds of high hopes for this team.  Sorry, they're just not that good.  Garnett is hurting, and I believe it's chronic.  They still have two great players (Pierce and Rondo) and have a uniquely tradable asset (R. Allen) that should be moved for younger pieces to bridge the gap to the future.

Danny needs to heed his own advice, open his eyes and remove his green colored glasses: move Ray Allen.  He, afterall, should know this more than all of us and he's admitted that Red should have done the same.

I agree with almost everything you put there.

But i also don't see how anything i wrote suddenly became an attack labeling you a "bad person". i think nothing of the sort.

I was just pointing out that the failure to trade ray allen probably will not result in the death of the franchise. that was just a tad bit to much hyperbole for my tastes.
