I think you should pull out your dictionary and look up the terms and quit trying to be cryptic about your insults.

I think some of our views come from the fact that Boston tore through the league the last two years....and even last year they ran off 19 straight wins at one time.

Well they aren't doing that yet...they did run off 11 in a row, but right now it doesn't look good..right now.

They can still win it this year, in spite of what we see, People. I have just seen too many strange, unexpected things in sports to count out our Celtics...let's see:

* Bret Favre's Improbable Season...one bad pass away from the
SuperBowl. Man I hope he DOESN'T retire.

* Sacramento coming from 39 points Down in CHI to win, this
  year.

* Boston's Playoff run in 2001-2002.

* Boston's miracle win in LA - Game 4 2007-2008 Finals.

* Jets nearly beating Colts in playoffs this year.

* Celtics Christmas Gift in ORL, without our Captain.

Sports are like that...you never know who will be hot at a particular time. And when Boston is playing Celtics Basketball, we are a tough out.

Boston can get hot at any time...yes they need to, soon, but I think they still have time, and can't be overlooked.

This team at it's current performance level cannot win a Championship.

This team as currently constructed can win a Championship.

Well, I think whoever started this thread was probably saying 'as things are currently constructed' we will not win a championship. You know what, he/she is right! Sure, Lebron and Kobe could get injured and for that matter, several team planes could crash eliminating most of our competition. There are a million variables that come into play. One thing is for certain though, if we play like last night and other teams play as they have been playing, we will not win the title this year and you are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

I am not trying to be a pessimist, just a realist. Now, if KG gets healthy and the rest of the gang then anything is possible. And, I do think that will happen.

It's worth noting that the Celts struggled for a week or two in 2008 when KG came back from injury. If they play like they are now they're screwed. If they play like they were in December they're fine. I don't think that's shockingly unlikely.

Who will light a fire under the players to hold the lead for 48 minutes?

Tonight vs. ATL and then Sunday vs. the Fakers will tell us alot about where our Celtics team is headed this post season.

I don't think anything in the next week or two will say anything about our future unless something drastic happens.

The fire is gone. KG is not KG anymore. Pierce and Allen are too inconsistent and Rasheed is....Rasheed. He is overweight and shoots too many 3's.

Rondo cannot hit a jumper or consistently make FT's. Stat from last night says he still shoots less than 60 percent.

Daniels is injured and BBD is still playing like a rookie, not the BBD from last year's playoffs.

There is something missing from this team. I just don't think they are hungry anymore.

This team has lost at least a half dozen games that the 2007-08 team would not have lost and are on pace to have thw worst record of the Big 3 era.

It is very disturbing. I also think Doc is very frustrated. Last night is a micro-chasm of the season.

Calm yourself. There is a reason for everything you (and the rest of us) have all had to witness.

KG - yeah he kind of missed 10+ games and needs to work himself back into game shape. The alley-oops we saw him miss were bad passes and he probably wanted to avoid landing awkwardly (IN JANUARY). KG is still KG. Intense on both ends of the floor and being the leader this team needs. He ran his man (Lewis) off the 3-point line last night into an area where help defense (aka Sheed) should have been there for him. The fire isn't gone but I agree that the flames could certainly use a fanning.

Sheed - he is still working his way back into game shape from the OFFSEASON. He didn't pickup a ball once in the offseason. Not once. Give him some time and live with the 3-balls.

Rondo - Just stop hating would you? Every facet of his game continues to improve. He'll be sniffing 70% from the stripe by the end of the season - oh he also leads the league in steals and is the leader amongst ALL GUARDS IN THE NBA in FG%.

Daniels - yes, he's injured. Yes, he'll be back and yes you've noticed just how valuable of a player he is on our team.

Big Baby - Yeah he too missed a lot of games early on and given that the injury was on his shooting hand I can understand why he's been a bit off lately. It's his baby jumper which has really allowed him to stretch the floor/defenses and his shot is just a bit off. He made some good buckets last night.

I think your best point is re: their hunger level. They just don't appear to have the swagger they once did, but that's all understandable given all of the above, no?

Davis' play has been lousy. I wanted Powe back, especially since Danny signed Rasheed "3pt" Wallace. Davis is not, and never has been, an under the basket player. He has no lift. He looks like Antoine under the basket sometimes. Now, I'm not saying Powe, especially since he hasn't even come back from his injury, would have been the savior of this team, but he would have been a better fit than Davis. He could have been here for the minimum, too. It kills me.

Baby's been crap but he'll probably see less than 10 minutes a game in the playoffs. I don't know that Leon's the answer but Davis was probably looking to earn at leadst twice what he's making and he's not even worth what he's getting.

There is a difference between being a contender and being the overwhelming favorites to win it all.

Not on this blog there isn't. Comments like that clearly put you in the koolaid drinking section with some posters (like me, i suppose)

We certainly have major concerns, Chief among them health and the fact that we have major rebounding issues, and I wouldn't say were the favorites at this point, but these doom and gloom threads bring me down man :(

at the end of the day, we are one of the top 4 teams in the league, and we can win it all. It doesn't mean we will, but sometimes when i log on I feel like we must be one of the worst teams in the league from the posts in some threads.

it seems like we had more constructive threads when we were awful sometimes  :)

How long do we have to wait for Sheed to work his way back into shape? I believe game 44 is tonight.

Yet another case of blatant overreaction!!

Sheed had a sore foot. He's only on game 41 or 42 tonight.

I often wonder, what exactly do people expect out of a 35 year old bench player? Because it seems to me that sheed could go out and put up 13/5/5 nights each and every night and people would gripe that he wasen't going for 20/8/8.

Not every team has manu or jason terry on thier bench.

because to me, what sheed is giving us is fine for that spot. Has been all year. we are getting exactly what we need out of sheed.

He has gone more to the block lately, is shooting better in general and is a above average big man defender. Considering he is THIRD on our big man depth chart, i'll take above average to good out of him.

Does he have his warts? absolutly. he drives me nuts when he settles for threes to much, gets a T (though some of the ones he gets are laughable), or gets out rebounded, but thats what we signed.

I feel like people's expectations of what a 6th man making the MLE should bring to this team are ridiculous sometimes.

Agreed. He's basically upgrading the PJ Brown role from 2 years ago.
