Now up to 2nd in offensive rating and 6th in defensive rating. We are up from 15 when I checked mid-January.

This team is a contender. We may not be as well-built as we were in recent years, but we are a contender nonetheless.

Be in the mix and healthy come the 2nd round of the playoffs. You never know what could happen.

30-11 over our last 41 games, so a 60-win pace over half a season.  That ties the Spurs for the best record over that period, and we are #1 in net rating over that same stretch (9.4 per 100 compared to 9.2 per 100 for OKC).  Honestly we should be considered one of the favorites, not just a contender.  This is not a good month, or two months.

And we are potentially adding a multiple time All NBA first team guy

With the blizzard I haven?t stepped in my car since Sunday.  It?s the only time I listen to sports radio.  They still talk mostly about the Patriots (even in the off season), then the Red Sox.  A distant 3rd is the Celtics (who are far ahead of the Bruins).

Most of what they do talk about when they?re on the Celtics is Tatum?s comeback and it?s possible negative outcomes.

What they?re missing out on is that this team continue be extremely entertaining and has a winning formula that works with different ingredients.

Anyhow? There are no Tatum threads on here in the recent threads box, so that?s nice to see.

Boston sports radio is useless when it comes to Celtics talk.  The people who actually did it best was waaaay back in the 1510 the Zone days.  Ordway was alright with it in the Big Show days but its been years since there has been real constructive Celtics talk.

They have a guy come on Saturdays for an hour!
Yup

That is crazy.

I do not understand how this group is doing as well as it is.

Ron Harper Jr. is discount Derrick White, and I hope we are about to sign him for a 4 year, team-friendly deal.

yes, it is crazy and before the season a number of us were planning the tank and looking at the top of the draft class.

as i watched the celtics disassemble a credible/above .500 phoenix team without brown playing it made me wonder - even without brown and tatum, would this team play above .500?? maybe even make a playoffs??
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Obviously it was all about Tatum last night, but Queta had 16/15 as well. Queta is turning into a legit big man that can also put up double-doubles regularly, and he's only 26 years old. We have been longing for a young building block kind of big man, and I think Queta is becoming that.

Yes he still has room to grow and become more consistent, but he's still made amazing strides this season.
