because I'm bored and frustrated and looking for a distraction...

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/12681/blazers-search-for-size-and-other-trade-chatter

Stein says that the 76ers are looking to offload salary in a big way and might be willing to give up Iggy for very little.  The Cavs are mentioned as a potential destination.

If they are willing to get rid of him for a straight salary dump, I'd have to look into this:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yjnqnu7

Ray for Iggy and Kopono

Yes, I know I'm the #donttraderay guy, but every rule has exceptions.  I'm sure Iggy has his faults, but he's a jack of all trades guy that would give us energy and a building block for the future as well as a nice piece now

and if Philly wants to buy out Ray, all the better

they can have our 1st rounder if they want, for what it is worth

I think Ray+filer for Iggy+Dalambert is a possibility...the only problem is PHI is in the same division which make the trade unlikely...

But we definitely need a big upgrade because KG and Ray have regressed too much...a buy-out veteran will not cut it...

i would rather have dalembert, especially if it meant i never have to see rasheed wallace play basketball again. i am 100% in for this deal....c's need to do something.

Ray and Scal for Iggy and Dalembert

at first blush, I couldn't say no to that.

Iggy and Dalembert is the best trade we can try to realize, it's obvious to me. It's our best chance to keep open the window without givin up this year... In my opinion Iguodala fits very well in Boston chemistry: good defensive player, young legs, very athletic and maybe the right man to play with pierce. Dalembert can be useful too (we can send Shelden to Philly)...

For sure if Allen coming back via buyout this could be the best trade ever, but this it's a dream, i know

I would think about the Kapono deal.

No to Dalembert.

I have been thinking about this deal for a while now because Iggy would be a great for this team. I would even add Sam because his length and athleticism would be useful. And let's face it, the only way to pry Iggy from the 76rs would be to take on Sam or Brand.  Unfortunately, when I did the math using figures from shamsports.com, things got a little dicey. According to the site, the payroll for this year is $84,045,132. If we traded Ray, Baby, and Giddens for Iggy and Sam (to keep as many expiring contracts for ourselves), our payroll still becomes inflated next year due to Rondo's raise. See below:
R. Rondo   9090909
A. I.           12345250
P. Pierce   21513521
K. G.      18832044
K. Perkins   4890208
R. Wallace   5322320
B. Walker   854389 (we keep him due to his small contract)
S. Dalembert   12912823
Total      85761464
Notice that we only have eight players and the payroll already exceeds this year's payroll. Assuming we have a late 1st (~ $950,000) and 2nd (~ $450,000) round pick, and three vet-minimum guys (~ 1,000,000 each) to reach a 13-player roster, the total payroll would be ~ $90,161,464. That is a lot of tax money next year for a team that doesn't look all that much better on paper.

yeah, that was my one concern - probably isn't going to happen with the CBA coming up (imagine if the tax number even went down, making the bill for overpayers even higher)

I agree that this is a huge problem. I don`t see the owners spending 20 million on Dalembert next season...

But I do feel that we could trade Dalembert to another team if this trade was made. Something like Dalembert to OKC for Collison+Thomas (and in a separate deal Scal to OKC for a 2nd rounder) because SD could only be traded again on his own...

Dalembert will make 12,2 mio in 2011, Collison 6,75 mio, so it would save us 5,5 mio (11 mio with tax)...

Collison is a solid player and would fit this team nicely IMO and OKC is looking for a defensive center, so I think they would also be interested in a deal like that...

Essentially the trade would be: Ray+TA+Scal for Igoudala+Collison+Thomas(expiring)...

I am more worried about how Perk will point to that contract when it comes time to be resigned.

I think to get Iggy you got to take Brand.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ykybm3n

Picks will have to be included, but I think this is a trade that makes everyone happy. :)

That makes the Bulls very sad since they are hoping to create cap room for next year.

The Bulls need a low post player and are hoping for Bosh or Amare. Tyrus, Hinrich, and Salmons are what they are willing to give up. I don't see it happening. Brand and a 1st rounder might be a nice consolation prize.

They also want cap space to try and convince Wade to "come home".

Do you see them giving up that chance on a bad contract with Brand?

I take this as your own way of panicking.  :-\

Ray for Iggy and a shooter sounds good to me.
