I hope Pierce opts to rest during the AS break.

Due to some unusual scheduling, the C's will actually get a lot of rest the week before the ASG.  Here's their schedule:

Sunday 2/7 - home vs. Orlando 2:30 pm (early game)
2/8 - off
2/9 - off
2/10 - @ New Orleans 8:00
2/11 - off
2/12 - off
2/13 - off
2/14 - ASG (glorified scrimmage - not a lot of defense)
2/15 - off

Even with 15 minutes of playing time in the All-Star Game, I would call that a pretty good rest.  Doc could potentially sit KG in the New Orleans game, or give some starters limited minutes, essentially making it over a week straight of rest or practice.  You almost never get that in the regular season.

I hope Gerald Wallace doesn't get left out.  Guy really deserves to be in the All-Star game.

I've always liked Iverson, but is anyone else with me in hoping he embarrasses himself and looks out of place?

Can Iverson really embarress himself anymore? I mean honestly...

Glad to see Rondo got the nod, I was thinking people wouldnt give him the credit he deserves. Pierce was a shoe in I thought.

If Iverson had any decency, he would have taken himself out.

Why? That's like someone handing you $10,000 and saying 'No thanks'

I can't wait for the absurd passes Rondo will attempt. He makes some pretty ridiculous ones in games that matter so imagine what he'll do for the AS game. I also want to see him pull off some ridiculous dunk. I don't think fans outside Boston realize how much hops he has.

Btw after looking at Horford's numbers is it unreasonable to think that next year Perk could be an AS reserve?

I don't think Iverson should take himself out. If he was chosen as a reserve, then maybe he should consider it, but since it was the fans the voted for him he should show up.

With that said, what needs to be fixed is the voting itself and how it's done and how much power the fans have over the starters that are chosen. But I really can't hold against a player for being voted in... I hold the ignorant fans responsible... Unless the player is Chinese because we know that Chinese voting is absurd.

i heard a suggestion on the radio and i really liked it.

Active players, retired players, and coaches vote for 4 Guards, 4 Forwards, and 2 Centers. Then announce the results...

Top vote getters start, next up are the backups.

then the fans get to pick the final 2 reserves.

As much as I respect Horford's game, I think D. Lee got straight snubbed.

And I could def see Rondo thrownin down a nice dunk. So happy he made it, most deserved selection on the team IMO.

Because he knows it wasn't deserved. Just because bunch of people in Asia or whatever voted for him, doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't be there. Yeah, the system sucks, but he could have been the bigger man. But hay, we are talking about Iverson...
