As I peruse the NBA standings for the first time in 3 weeks - No teams are playing .800 ball. We had 3 or 4 teams up there around Christmas Day.

Lakers are still jelly soft in the middle and the road has treated the defending champs rudely. They came close to losing to the Clippers.

Atlanta beat down a tough Houston team in Houston while Vince Carter shot the Magic out of another game in Memphis. I think Atlanta will get the two seed in the East.

Chicago's problem is that it has to count the 1st two months of the season against its record. They win a roadie in San Antonio. I would like to compare Joakim's numbers against Perkins, Horford, and Howard to see who is the best Center in the EC.

Portland keeps playing well despite half their team down due to injuries.

New Orleans basketball team must labor in the obscurity behind their football team. Maybe the football team can lift up the basketball team. If not, I would like to engineer a three way trade between GS, N. O. and Boston and get Chris Paul in Boston. Stay tuned for the Frustrated Basketball Engineer posting .

Clippers probably finish with 43 wins and that is good enough for 10th place in the West while they would get a 5th seed in the East. They need to move back to Buffalo whence they came while we send Milwaukee to the Western Conference just like the 1970's.

Why does Sacremento have an NBA franchise and Seattle does not? This makes no sense at all. Sacremento is a city the size of Wichita, KS for crying out loud. Wichita has a nice new arena capable of hosting an NBA game paid for by my tax dollars.

What NBA thoughts are on your mind?
