2 (3.3%)
3 - Todd Collins or maybe Danny Weurfeulish Career backup

This stretch coming up in when Tebow can really start opening my eyes.   Beating up on the dregs of the league (MIA & KC) plus a listless OAK hasn't done squat for me.  Let's not underestimate the contributions of the DEN defense here, either.

Next 5 games: NYJ, @SD, @MIN, CHI, NE.

Tebow's going to need to throw the ball if he's going to win those games.

I think he loses to the Pats this week.

That would be 4-1 in that 5 game stretch you listed.

Not too shabby for a running back playing QB who can't win in the NFL.

the jets and san diego wins were solid.  not sure i count the minnesota / chicago wins for much at this point, though.

the game against the pats will be interesting.  on paper the pats are the kind of team that should succeed against tebow (good run defense, weak pass defense, strong passing game, not reliant on the run, even more clutch QB).

Reiss always has an interesting take:
Quote
Also, Tebow has been markedly more effective in the fourth quarter of games, thanks in no small part to the way defenses have treated him. Since Week 7, Broncos opponents have rushed five or more defenders on 40.0 percent of Tebow’s dropbacks in the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter and overtime, they’ve rushed five or more defenders on only 28.4 percent of his dropbacks. The change of 11.6 percent is the largest in the league, meaning that no team has seen a more drastic change in opponent defensive philosophy from the early parts of the game to crunch time. Since the Jets were burned on a seven-man blitz for the game-winning scramble on a Thursday night in Week 11, teams have sent extra pressure after Tebow in the fourth quarter at almost half the rate as they had before (37.0 percent before to 18.6 percent after). Defenses that can effectively play aggressively in the fourth quarter will solve the Tebow riddle, as his numbers are far worse against extra pressure.

Well, if he wants to be thanking his lord and savior, then he must be thanking Matt Prater, I guess.

Could you imagine if Prater becomes to Tebow what Vinatieri was to Brady?

Me neither.

Pats win comfortably today.

The so-called "Tebowmania" gets subdued. There won't be a 4th quarter comeback this time around.  Broncos offense won't be able to keep pace with the Pats offense.

Tebow could have opened my eyes in this 5 game stretch.

But if he loses to the Pats, all bets are off.

Going 4-1 in that stretch would show me he sucks.

No excuse for a grizzled vet like Tebow losing to a scrub like Brady.

I'll sit here, face the music and eat crow if Tebow pulls this off but I just don't see it happening.

The wins have been impressive but I chalk a lot of it up to some stellar play by a very solid Denver defense and some exceptional kicking by Matt Prater who was the MVP of the Bears game last week (one could argue Marion Barber was the Broncos MVP too).

Tebow's in the big time today.  He's not going up against Christian Ponder or Caleb Henie this week.  This is his statement game.  I don't think he has it to keep pace with Brady.

So the Pats are going to play totally differently than they did against the Colts and Redskins? I suppose that's possible.

I got the Broncos at home against the Pats "defense", and possibly another sideline argument for Brady and a coach.

How so?  I'd love some elaboration on that.

Letting teams stick around. Letting QBs that nobody respects have very good days and letting games come down to the wire. Last week I think they allowed 170 yards rushing, right? Trying to cover guys with converted WRs

Well the Pats didn't do that this week.

Cardinals have won 6 out of their last seven, with a waaaaaay less effective defense, but because their QB doesn't have a good story, no one cares. Where's the Skelton love?
